Oversubscription When an IPO receives more applications than the shares available, it is called oversubscription. Say a company was planning to sell just 1,000 shares but it got applications for 10,000 shares. Here, we will say the IPO was oversubscribed 10 times. In this case, the shares are randomly allocated to the IPO investors. #ipo #shares #subscription #oversubscription

Word of the Day: Price Band Today's word of the day is "Price Band." In an IPO, price band refers to the range of prices at which a company offers its shares. For example, the price band of an IPO could be between Rs 100 to Rs 120. Investors can bid for shares of the company within this range, applying to buy at Rs 112, Rs 115, Rs 120, and so on. Understanding the price band is an important aspect of IPO investing. #PriceBand #IPO #Investing
