Repatriation is always a hot topic when on-premises vendors make another marketing push on this false narrative. Gartner surveyed this late last year, and we continue to see no evidence for this as a trend, though certainly we continue to see clients encounter project failures or near-failures. (And I can certainly tell you many tales of woe from badly-thought-out and badly-executed lift-and-shift migration.) I've recently published a lightly updated version of one of my previous notes, with some narrative context on the post-pandemic world, along with some survey data. You can find it here: https://lnkd.in/gs9RmW6N (Gartner GTP paywall). #cloud #IaaS #PaaS #SaaS #repatriation #survey #Gartner #research

Yet to see any large scale strategic cloud repatriation in enterprise customer segement, contrary to this narrative from the on-prem vendors.

Love this. Great to see you call out these vendors. There are many failure modes but witnessing vendors claim repatriation as an actual thing is an affront to our collective integrity and offensive to customers intellect globally. Thank you.

Great mythbusting stuff Lydia!
