🧪I’m doing an experiment this summer 🧪 While my fall is starting to book up, my summer is quite slow (hint, I’m available for work 😉). So, I’ve decided to try out something new. I’m going to work in the MORNINGS only. My mornings are my most productive time anyway, so my goal is to stay extremely focused and work for 4-5 hours, taking a few short breaks of course. My hope is that I can remove/ignore distractions and that by knowing I have “play” time I’ll stay focused and be effective with my time. Have you ever done anything like this? Would you? If you have, share your strategies for success. Hiding my phone is on my agenda. Also looking into apps that block websites for specific periods of time (any recs?) #worklifeharmony

Alena Sviderskaia, ACC any tips? I know you've done something similar before.

I also do my best thinking in the morning. I try to block off two hours to make progress on my most important assignments before I let the flood gates open.

Depending on the day, and what needs to be done... (I can only be outside for a few hours and have to come inside because I get very bad heat/sun stroke). I typically do all my outside work in the morning and then follow up focusing on some sort of nutritional meal. I'm really trying to be intentional in the afternoons guarding my peace and keeping my stress levels low which means staying off my phone and limiting screen time, or specifically social as much as possible. I will still do some computer work or read an ebook. But I know my day and my work is very different from most people's. So even if I rest in the afternoons or do meal prep, inside work, I can still go back out for a few hours once the sun has shifted.

I have done this while travelling and it was lovely. I think I’ll try it for a bit this summer! I think having a compressed work day makes me more productive.

I never have my notification sound on during my 'work' time. I love the idea of having some dedicated time to my own wellness so that I may serve others. I am also a morning person - and it's important to plan that down time. PS - You look awesome 🙂

Enjoy! This is how I try to structure summer too - I know I'm most productive then, plus the kids are doing their own thing and happy. When they were little it was the opposite - I would take them out in the am then they would be tired in the afternoon lol planning for a quieter summer takes so much stress off of us too!

Love this and might replicate it in my life. Work is definitely busy but slower and I’m inclined to really lean into summer - more time outside and with friends, reading, hiking, hobbies. Thanks for the inspo!
