Children are the purest forms of soul, their innocence mirrors the beauty of art, the beauty of diversity and the essence of Love.
I bambini sono la parte piú pura dell'anima, nella loro innocenza si riflette la bellezza dell'arte, la bellezza della diversità e l'essenza dell'Amore.

If not now, then when?
🕒 Today, I celebrate a unique milestone - ten months into my journey of learning French.
🇫🇷 When Keepeek, a vibrant French company, joined our Papirfly family, it sparked a moment of realization for me. The universe seemed to be asking, "If not now, then when?" And with that, my adventure into the French language began.
A huge "Merci beaucoup" to Sacha Mikula, my patient and insightful instructor, for guiding me through this journey. 🙏
Embracing this new challenge has also led me to explore another language of a different kind: C++. While vastly different, each language, be it French, C++, or even my ongoing work with C# and JavaScript (Angular), adds a unique layer to my understanding of communication and creativity. 🖥️
At 41, I stand by the belief that it's never too late to learn something new 🌟
I want to share this not just as a personal milestone but as a source of motivation. This is for anyone who believes they've missed their chance to learn something new. Whether it's a language, a skill, or a hobby, the best time to start is always now.
As I reflect on these past ten months, I also want to share a piece of my journey that has brought me immense joy: finally understanding and truly appreciating "L'amour Est Bleu" by Vicky. This song, from 1967, has always held a special place in my heart, and learning French has given me a deeper connection to its lyrics and beauty. It’s a reminder of how learning can open our hearts and minds in the most delightful ways.
So, I ask you: What's something new you've been wanting to learn or have recently started learning? How does it inspire you, and what joy does it bring to your life? Let's encourage each other to keep pushing our boundaries and exploring new horizons.

"As a proud Spaniard, my identity is a unique facet of this intricate necklace we call humanity. But I realised that our strength lies not in our singularity but in our unity, just like the beads that form this mesmerising necklace.
My bead represents solidarity, one that reflects the essence of my Spanish heritage. This bead carries with it the warmth of Spanish hospitality, the passion of flamenco, and the richness of our history.
My bead, I knew, would have a profound significance in the grand design of our collective identity. It symbolises my belief that understanding and unifying with other cultures was not just a choice but a responsibility. It was a call to embrace the beauty of diversity and recognise that every culture, like each bead, has its unique charm to offer.
I placed my bead of solidarity onto the string, as it nestled alongside others. It is a testament to the power of unity, a visual reminder that we were all integral parts of a harmonious whole.
My bead of solidarity is a symbol of my commitment to this ideal. It is a small but meaningful contribution to the ever-expanding string of beads that represents the world's cultures.
Together, as we embraced our diversity and worked towards a common purpose, we could indeed create a brighter, more harmonious world, where every bead, every culture, played a vital role in the grand design of humanity."

“Flo, do you notice any cultural differences in public speaking?”
“No.”
I did notice cultural differences during my Erasmus exchange year in Barcelona in 1997/98. We were university students from 25 countries. We spent countless nights together in bars and house parties. It was amazing to see how much truth lies in stereotypes. Have you seen the movie 'L'Auberge Espagnole'? Bingo!
But the stage is not a bar or a house party. It’s a completely different universe. On stage, you face your inner voice, your inner demons, your fear - stage fright! Your cerebellum takes control. All our cultural differences, especially the way we use our body language, surrender to our instincts.
Italians on stage: T-Rex.
Spaniards on stage: T-Rex.
Germans on stage: T-Rex.
Any nationality I have worked with: T-Tex.
The T-Rex kills your cultural authenticity. So dare to be more Italian or Spanish or Nigerian on stage. Take your bar style to the stage. You will engage your audience much more, and, that is even better, in a much more authentic way.
Of course, one question remains: Do you want to be more German on stage? Well… 🤣

Native American culture encompasses a wide range of traditions, beliefs, and customs that have been passed down through generations.
One of the most distinctive features of Native American culture is their connection to nature. They believe that everything in nature has a spirit, and that humans must live in harmony with the natural world. This respect for nature is reflected in their art, music, and dance, which often incorporate elements of the natural world.
Another important aspect of Native American culture is their strong sense of community. Native American tribes have their own unique languages, traditions, and customs, which they have preserved over time. They also place great importance on storytelling, which serves as a way to pass down their history and traditions to future generations.
Despite the challenges that Native American communities have faced over the years, including colonization and forced assimilation, their culture remains strong and resilient. By celebrating and learning from Native American culture, we can all gain a greater appreciation for the rich diversity of our world.
Let us honor and respect the Native American culture by learning more about their traditions and customs, and by promoting cultural diversity and understanding in our own communities.

CIPRI’s Cultural Intellectual Property Month starts today!
2024 is the third consecutive year that ‘Cultural Intellectual Property Rights are Human Rights’ is the theme for Cultural Intellectual Property Month. The reason this theme needs a decade of attention is because it challenges mainstream conceptions of ownership, wellbeing and universal knowledge which took centuries to establish dominance. This theme does not attempt to demonstrate a new universal knowledge, but to create a space for a plurality of knowledge systems and worldviews to be nourished and coexist simultaneously, known as the Pluriverse (Arturo Escobar, 2018).
