📣 We’re excited to announce LUMO Labs, through the TTT-AI | Thematic Technology Transfer Artificial Intelligence Fund, and SHIFT Invest have invested €550K in Amsterdam-based Roboat. A spin-out from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the AMS Institute, Roboat automates waterways, contributing to safe, efficient, and sustainable transport and improved urban livability. 🛳️ 🚀 Roboat has developed an AI-powered system to excel in highly complex urban and inland #waterways where heavy traffic conditions are the norm. The Roboat autonomy system can be applied to new builds and also to retrofit commercial vessels for various applications, including passenger transport and goods pick-up and delivery. Roboat’s system significantly reduces the carbon footprint of city #logistics and addresses UN SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. “We are collaborating already with multiple clients in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe where our system is either supporting the skipper on the bridge deck or is even taking full control of the navigation,” said Ynse Hendrik Deinema, Roboat CEO & Co-founder. “Cities worldwide are struggling with transporting people and goods over their congested roads,” said Andy Lurling, Founding Partner LUMO Labs. “Waterborne transportation is a good alternative to cars and trucks, but shortage of personnel and relatively high OpEx is currently posing a bottleneck. Roboat’s technology offers a solution based on autonomous navigation. This market is expected to grow tremendously, since we need to rethink our transportation systems, making it more versatile and more sustainable.” Welcome to the LUMO Labs family, Team Roboat! Good things are coming!

Super cool, congrats both Roboat and LUMO Labs! I'd love to test it (and can facilitate) in the Bay of Kotor whenever you're ready!
