Our Luminis Health Pathways patients were recently visited by Dr. George Kolodner, founder of Triple Track Treatment (TTT). TTT is a stop-smoking and nicotine program we are integrating into our care. Because we’re a smoke-free facility, this program supports our smoking patients in their journey to quit. Dr. Kolodner is pictured here with Pathways team members including Jennifer Ward, Steven Grant, Jennifer Wheeler, and others. To learn more about Pathways visit: https://bit.ly/4crr0AY

Last night, we celebrated #Juneteenth with a presentation from Antonia Hylton, author of "Madness: Race and Insanity in a Jim Crow Asylum." Her book is a deep dive into Crownsville Hospital, an Anne Arundel County institution that serves as a harsh reminder of inequality and bias in mental health care. Luminis Health Trustee and former nurse manager at Crownsville, Joyce Phillip, facilitated this impactful discussion. We’re committed to supporting justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) efforts, as we work to eliminate health disparities and systemic inequality. We know we are #StrongerTogether.

We are celebrating Juneteenth, Freedom Day, all week. It’s important to recognize Juneteenth as a part of our Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) journey, reflecting the ongoing pursuit of justice and equality. On Sunday, Luminaries participated in the third annual City of Bowie Juneteenth Jubilee at the Allen Pond Park. Tonight, our annual Juneteenth employee event will host “An Evening with Antonia Hylton”, author of "Madness: Racism and Insanity in a Jim Crow Asylum." To conclude our celebrations, on Saturday, we will join the Annapolis Juneteenth Parade and Festival. We continue to support our JEDI efforts, striving to eliminate health disparities and systemic inequality. We know we are #StrongerTogether. #Juneteenth #EliminiateSystemicInequality #AntiRacism
