Why I Donate: Carrie and Clint Bradford "We learned about MWSF in Fall 2022 after we reconnected with family, including Clay who has MWS. We were eager to learn more about him! MWSF was one of the only resources that came up in our search. It was reassuring to learn there is a 'landing pad' out there for people living with MWS and their families - we knew we wanted to be a part of this effort. Clay is a source of light and joy to everyone who knows him. He gives the best hugs and knows every detail imaginable about Monster Jam (not to mention his personal memorabilia collection!). Clay loves with his whole heart - he makes us feel so special by recalling shared memories or thinking up fun things to do together in the future. We can’t imagine the bewilderment a family must feel when they get to an MWS diagnosis. We know that when Clay was diagnosed, MWSF served as an information-source for Clay, and connected him to a community that was out there waiting for him. We learned about the research projects that MWSF helps to support as well. In this way, it’s rewarding to be a small part of both the “here and now” of the MWSF community and also look to what the future could hold thanks to these research efforts." You can still donate to MWSF and support our mission: https://lnkd.in/gwn2WW3m #givingtuesday #seasonofgiving #donatetoday #fundraising

Excited to have the opportunity to volunteer with RMHC. Research indicates supporting the entire family during a child’s critical illness can improve resilience, reduce stress and enhance wellbeing for several crucial reasons: ✅ Emotional Well-Being: A child’s illness affects the entire family - parents, siblings, and extended family members experience stress, anxiety, and fear. ✅ Practical Assistance: Supporting the whole family enables the sharing of responsibilities to alleviate the daily burden of families managing critical illnesses. ✅ Financial Strain: Community resources, counselling, and financial aid can ease the burden of medical expenses. ✅ Sibling Support: Emotional support for siblings of critically ill children can ease related disruption and anxiety. ✅ Parental Health: Support for parents to assist in the maintenance of their own physical and mental health can assist in the provision of better care. ✅ Family Dynamics: Critical illnesses strain family relationships. Open communication, counselling, and support groups can help maintain healthy dynamics and ease the strain on family relationships. ✅ Child’s Recovery: Improved positive health outcomes have been linked to the provision of a supportive family environment.
While big brother Aidan is in the hospital, the Kam family have a warm, comforting place to stay close to him at RMHC Toronto. "When I'm at the hospital, I'm so grateful to know my littlest ones are just a short walk away with their dad, and I don’t have a long drive home at night," says mom, Aimee. "And thanks to RMHC Toronto’s meal program. I know that my family is eating well, too, when I can’t be around to cook." Your support is life-changing for families like the Kams. DLP Capital is all about housing. And for many, a house is emblematic of family. But in some parts of the world, children never get to know much of either. That’s why the DLP Positive Returns Foundation is going the extra mile (well, more like 2,540 miles, to be exact) to help out orphaned teens in Guatemala City. These are teens who, for the most part, have never known a home as they near adulthood. Through the non-profit organization Transforming Futures, orphaned teens and others without stable homes are taught life skills, provided healthy meals, and offered spiritual guidance… Keep reading: https://lnkd.in/efttykS3

Government administration with expertise in governance, policy development, and privacy and data management
Around the world, 129 million girls are out of school, including 32 million of primary school age, 30 million of lower-secondary school age, and 67 million of upper-secondary school age. In countries affected by conflict, girls are more than twice as likely to be out of school than girls living in non-affected countries (UNICEF). Girls who complete a secondary school education earn more, marry later and raise children who are healthier and better nourished. Educated girls are less likely to face discrimination. They are safer and better protected from exploitation and abuse. They invest more in their communities. And they contribute more to the economy and to society. Click on https://lnkd.in/g_uGzFDQ to donate today.
Thanks to your kind contributions, so far we've received $16,400! This means that 27 girls will be able to attend school safely in September, and it's all thanks to you. We're incredibly grateful for your generosity and the impact you're making in their lives. Our mission is not over yet. There are still dozens of girls who have not received funding and require our assistance. Let us unite and work towards fulfilling their dreams! Click on https://lnkd.in/g_uGzFDQ to donate today.
