🌟 Building a Culture of Support and Collaboration in the Clinical Laboratory 🌟 In the intricate world of medical laboratory science, our roles extend far beyond just testing samples. We juggle the demands of accurate data generation, strict turnaround times, quality control, regulatory compliance, troubleshooting, and the ever-evolving landscape of technology. Amidst these challenges, workplace dynamics and relationships with colleagues and superiors are equally crucial. When a new administrative position is filled, whether it's a general supervisor, laboratory manager, or section supervisor, there’s inevitably a learning curve. Yet, instead of seeing this as a moment to assert superiority, it’s vital we embrace the opportunity to support and collaborate. Unfortunately, ageism can rear its head, with comments like, “You’re just a kid in a high position,” or “You’re too old to be good at your job.” Let’s remind ourselves: being a medical laboratory scientist doesn’t mean we should be lone wolves. Behind every great achievement is a great team. Our success within the four walls of the laboratory is directly linked to our collective efforts. Vicious competition and isolation won’t take us far. By opening our minds to support and collaboration, we pave the way for a successful clinical laboratory. This not only ensures the highest standards of patient safety but also propels our professional growth. Together, we can make a difference. 💪🔬 #LabLife #Collaboration #Support #Teamwork #MedicalScience #healthcare #medlabscientist

HOW MUCH DO YOU ENJOY THE PROFESSION?😋😋 DO YOU ENJOY being a medical laboratory scientist? As a medical scientist, are you proud of your work? How motivated are you in carring out your duties on daily basis? How do you handle the workload effectively? Do you wake up in the morning and feel excited to go out and contribute positively to someone's health? Do you retire to bed and feel fulfilled you contributed to someone's health positively? How do you feel when you diagnose that sample? Yes, our work is demanding and exhausting most times but do you have something that keeps you going no matter what? How do you see that human samples you work on? Yes, most times we don't get to see the patient, we don't have direct contact with them like the doctors and nurses, but that sample is LIFE, we are handling a LIFE, each sample is a LIFE. How do you see yourself as a biomedical scientist?? 🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬 As a medical laboratory scientist, I sees myself as an engine in a car. Looking at a car from outside, you won't possibly see the engine, it is always hidden, covered or protected because of its importance. For a car that uses engine, you can't operate such car without the engine. We are the bedrock of modern medicine, we work behind the scenes but you can never take away our importance. Yesterday was world BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE day,, as a Biomedical scientist, take a few minutes to reflect on your contributions to humans lives, I'm sure you'll agree with me that we are Heroes!!! p.s. Do you really enjoy the profession?? I look forward to reading your response 🤗🤗 #healthiswealth #proudmedics #biomedicalscientist
