Last month, I graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a B.A. in Public Affairs. Today, I am starting a new position as a Development Writer at NPR. I'm excited to reunite with a fantastic team, and return to the world of public radio!

Incredible, Lucas!!! When I worked for NPR Development and we were looking for a well-rounded intern, we went through 200+ applications. You stood out so much & I had the pleasure of helping select you as a candidate. Then you landed the internship after a successful interview and absolutely crushed it. I remember thinking that I thought you’d be an excellent NPR employee full-time after graduating and you did just that. I’m so proud of you and I’m glad we had a bit of time to work together! You’re going to do great things 🙂

During my last year — and last few quarters — at UCLA Radio, it's become all the more important to me that the station I love continues on in the future. A couple weeks ago, Anna Faubus and I interviewed candidates for UCLA's UCLA Undergraduate Students Association Council (USAC) for UCLA Radio in an interview segment called "Meet the Candidates." These candidates talked about their hopes for UCLA's student government next year and their plans to get involved with the student body. It was extremely fulfilling to be able to spread the word about student government on UCLA's campus and see the voter turnout jump from 15% of students in 2022 to 23% in 2023!
