One of the most time-consuming tasks I often find myself addressing during the research phase is the creation of interview protocols and questionnaires for user research, brand assessment, and market analysis. I believe it is safe to say that most of us (regardless of the field we are in) find the topic of ChatGPT and all other AI platforms a complex topic. For those of us in Career Services, we certainly have our individualized concerns regarding resume writing, cover letter, etc. This article sent by The Career Leadership Collective, for the most part, seems to reflect my concerns and my level of embracement with ChatGPT thus far. I have posted a couple of times recently about keeping positive throughout your job hunt - but what do you do when you actually not only find a role you are really interested in, but you get asked to #interview? A couple of conversations I have had recently have really brought to light the fact there are a lot of people out in the job market right now who are a bit out of practise, and although getting to interview stage is a success in it's own right, it can also pose a whole new set of #challenges. So how do you prepare to put your best foot forward? Well it all comes down to #preparation - but the right sort of preparation - which should leave you going into an interview setting (in person or online) feeling confident, if still managing a few butterflies flapping around. Enter #ChatGPT - If you copy paste the job description for the role you are applying for and paste this into ChatGPT and ask at the same time for it to give you potential interview questions, it will throw a whole bunch back at you. Not impressed with what it spat out? Tell it you want it to do better, and it will give you more. Maybe even ask it to give you situation based questions! Now this can help in multiple ways: 1. You can run a test interview with yourself, a friend, family member, your barista, someone at your local bus stop, your dog - get creative. 2. This will also get you thinking more critically about some of your past experiences, which should not only enable you to bring up examples faster in an interview, but because you have been thinking about these experiences recently hopefully will enable you to speak to these in more detail. Sharing the true depth of your capabilities. Also, if you are interviewing in NZ (I can't really speak for other territories) most employers appreciate when you follow the STAR method for explaining your experience too (Situation, Task, Action and Result). So get used to talking through your background keeping this framework in mind.
