Interestingly, that day I had lunch with a former colleague from two law firms who has become not only a friend, but a trusted advisor, in this new chapter of both of our lives. The beautiful lavender plant has been associated with many symbolic meanings throughout history. For some, it offers a calming presence, has been connected to love and devotion, promotes relaxation and calmness and symbolizes peace or tranquility. In ancient times, lavender was believed to offer protection against evil spirits and negative energy. 80 years ago today, Operation Overlord, code name for the Battle of Normandy, launched on June 6, 1944 and changed the course of WWII. It is a miracle that anyone survived if you have taken the time to look at the historical footage of this battle. Grateful to all who served in the D-Day invasion and in particular to the men in the 29th Infantry Division. Another opportunity to stop and think about the tremendous freedoms we enjoy because of all who paid the ultimate price and those who carried on--this world would not be the same today without them.#neverforget
