Big ambitions require large cooperation ! In the dynamic landscape of sustainability, more than anywhere else, continuous improvement thrives on collaborative and concerted efforts that transcend personal interests. Good to see that in the Health & Beauty industry, more and more competitors are joining forces: - the Ecobeautyscore consortium is now federating 70+ companies, including almost all big majors (L'Oréal, Unilever, Beiersdorf, LVMH, Kenvue, Estée Lauder, Chanel, Henkel, Coty, etc), working on the elaboration of an harmonized way of measuring environmental impacts throughout the life cycle of products, - 15 main cosmetic actors work on the creation of a common plateform to ensure traceability of their raw materials without requesting triple work from their suppliers, - at BtoB level, chemistry companies are also working together to accelerate the transition to greener processes: Oleon joined Together for Sustainability, a 50-member-driven initiative, raising CSR standards throughout the chemical industry and allowing targetted CSR audits, to speed change implementation. #oleon #greenchemistry #ecobeautyscore #togetherforsustainability

15-Years of Activating Impact! 🌎 3 to go to achieve REAL IMPACT. It was truly humbling heading to the 2024 GFA Summit this year, especially as it marks a significant milestone of 15 years since the inaugural Summit (formerly, Copenhagen Fashion Summit), hosted in 2009. Since then, the forum has evolved into an unmissable date in the fashion calendar – relevant for those wishing to stay ahead on sustainability priorities, gain tangible updates on policy developments, explore new innovations, and reflect on sociocultural influences in the ever-changing fashion landscape. The theme this year, spoke to the individuals at ProcureCircular. A project that was born from extensive research from the team members connected to the project to date. The initial founders of the business have had backgrounds working in the industry, and in sustainability and found it truly shocking how we are still not there in reaching industry goals for the transition that is needed. ProcureCircular was born simply from the founders wanting to create a digital systems change tool that would provide a support in aiding organisations achieving impact and reaching their net zero goals. Unlocking the Next Level, took stock of the evolution and the progress made so far, but, moreover a look ahead at what actions must urgently be implemented in the near term and the gaps that must be filled to unlock the next level to accelerate industry transformation. Ideas and solutions are still brimming across organisations. It is now up to the connected network and individuals with the aptitude to make it happen. Koel Bhadra, L'Oréal said, when we do innovation, we have three key pillars for innovation. First is desirability because we are in the consumer business. So consumer desirability that plays a very big role. Next comes sustainability. This is our business goal. The third is affordability. Whatever innovation we do should be affordable for that particular segment of consumers.

🌟 Yesterday, June 19th, we had the pleasure of attending the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe event "Vision & Visibility: Scaling Transparency" at the Triennale Milano. 🌟 Three years after the launch of The Sustainability Pledge initiative, a project by UN/CEFACT jointly implemented with the International Trade Centre (ITC) and supported by the European Union, we spent the day sharing the results and learnings achieved since 2021. Discussions ranged from innovative solutions to accelerate circularity in production and consumption to the development of KPIs for measuring transparency levels and best practices for the industry's future. These three years have seen collective efforts in #research, #development, and #awareness, dedicated to demonstrating that #transparency, #traceability, #sustainability, and #circularity are indeed possible throughout the entire value chain. 🌱 Musthad, along with around 100 other brands, NGOs, initiatives, and industry associations, has embraced the call to action of The Sustainability Pledge, joining the movement and aligning with its common goals. 🗓 On March 18th, we completed the Monitoring Survey 2024 to track the implementation of the pledges received under UNECE’s call to action. The purpose of these reports is to use the aggregated analysis of the results to inspire policymakers, brands, and companies through good practices and lessons learned. Yesterday's event, focused on creating a more #accountable apparel and footwear sector, brought together key industry players, experts, policymakers, opinion leaders, and more. For us, it was particularly interesting to note that one of the major topics of the day was "From #Data to #Impact," highlighting the importance of data collection and digitalization in enabling circular supply chains and achieving virtuous transparency goals. We were also pleased to see the growing emphasis on product traceability throughout the entire supply chain, not only from origin to end consumer but also to the product's end-of-life. What a busy two days at the Sustainable Apparel and Textiles Conference from Innovation Forum! My brain is buzzing, my notes are messy and heavily misspelled, my linkedin is overwhelming and my social battery is over for the week 😅 Day two is always my favorite day, as all participants have warmed up enough and are ready to deep dive into the highs and lows of sourcing, product creation, legislations, transparency and DPP, consumers behaviours, business models pilots and scale, and more! I'll collect my thoughts and share some key takeaways over the next couple of days, but one thing I immediately want to share is: 👕 There are currently 28BN products circulating in the EU, out of which 23BN are imported from other countries. 🇪🇺 Europe makes up about 40% of the global fashion market. 👉🏼 So wether if you're a brand / supplier / service provider based in Europe or not, the regulatory landscape being established here, cannot be ignored if you want to stay in business! #circulareconomy #circularinnovation #innovationforum
