In the tapestry of survival, each survivor of human trafficking weaves a story of strength and resilience. Navigating the shadows, they emerge into the light of a new day, bravely embracing healing and reclaiming their narrative. 🌟 Healing is a journey, not a destination. Together, as a supportive community, we stand shoulder to shoulder, learn from each other, and grow stronger. Stand with us in supporting survivors of human trafficking, aged 21 and under, statewide. 💙 Let's amplify the voices of survivors, foster understanding, and create a world where compassion and empathy pave the way for brighter tomorrows. Because in unity, we find strength, and in understanding, we sow the seeds of hope. Learn more: https://bit.ly/48XrlKf

Embodying the core values and principles that our mothers imparted to us is a powerful way to honor their wisdom and guidance. Here are some ways to actively live in accordance with these values: Compassion and Empathy: Practice empathy and compassion in our interactions with others. By showing kindness and understanding, we uphold the values of empathy that our mothers instilled in us. This can be as simple as lending a listening ear to a friend in need or volunteering to help those less fortunate in our communities. https://amzn.to/3U6Ht7Z

Today we mark the anniversary of the 2008 formal apology to Australia’s Stolen Generations who were forcibly removed from their families and communities when they were children, through race-based policies set up by both State and Federal Governments in 1910 and continued as recently as the 1970s. We recognise the trauma experienced and ongoing for the Stolen Generations survivors and acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were separated from family, community and culture. Through hearing their stories, and ongoing deep listening, we hope to join in on the healing journey and to be part of the solution into the future. Last year we launched our second Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). The RAP outlines 27 actions with 109 corresponding deliverables that inform and improve our practice. These deliverables were developed from consultations held across the country including truth-telling with Aboriginal Elders. We continue our deep listening so together we can support better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, communities, and families.
