This month our team, along with the City of Duluth and Rajala Woods, planted over 1,200 trees at Amity Creek in Duluth! By planting native pines and cedars - the new trees will help prevent erosion, boost biodiversity, and create a healthier habitat for all. When the 5 acres of restored pine forest reaches maturity, it will pull between four and ten metric tons of carbon from the air every year. We're grateful to have a community and team that is passionate about giving back in a way that protects our environment and gets us outside. #WeAreLoll

🧹🌱 Embracing Cleanliness: My Recent Drive Experience 🌍🚯 I am delighted to share the incredible experience I had during our recent cleanliness drive organized by Vrikshit Foundation! 🌿🌟 It fills my heart with joy to see our community coming together to make a positive impact on our surroundings. As the District President of Vrikshit Foundation, I am truly honored and humbled to be a part of an organization that is passionately dedicated to the causes of cleanliness, plantation, and social awareness. 🌳🚮 Here's a glimpse of our rewarding journey: 🧭 The Beginning: The day started with enthusiastic volunteers gathering at our designated meeting point, armed with gloves, trash bags, and a shared determination to create a cleaner, healthier environment for everyone. The energy was infectious, and I knew it was going to be a day filled with purpose. 🚮 The Cleanup: As we began our cleanup mission, it was heartening to witness how everyone swiftly got into action. From picking up litter in the parks to clearing trash from sidewalks, we left no stone unturned in our pursuit of cleanliness. The smiles on the faces of passersby as they noticed our efforts reaffirmed that we were making a positive difference. 🌿 Planting Seeds of Change: Our drive wasn't just about cleaning up; it was also about contributing to a greener tomorrow. Alongside the cleanup, we dedicated some time to plant saplings in the area. Watching these tiny green ambassadors finding their new home was a truly satisfying sight, knowing that they will grow and flourish, benefiting generations to come. 🎉 Celebration of Success: As the day came to a close, we gathered once again to celebrate our achievements. The amount of trash collected and the number of saplings planted were awe-inspiring, but more importantly, we celebrated the sense of community and camaraderie that blossomed during the drive. 🌟 Let's Keep the Momentum Going: Our work doesn't end here. Let's continue our efforts, inspiring others to join us in this journey towards a more sustainable and cleaner world. Together, we can make a significant difference. #CleanlinessDrive #VrikshitFoundation #CommunityEngagement #GreenTomorrow #Sustainability #CleanEnvironment #BeTheChange #SocialImpact #Gratitude

Today is Earth Day! 🌎 I love learning about all things sustainability and environmental stewardship, and Earth Day is a great reminder to actually DO something with that knowledge. 👉 The Appleton Habitat Restore has a cool initiative going on this evening for those in the Fox Valley! 🌱 In honor of Earth Day, here are a few easy, low-cost things anyone can do to lean into a more sustainable lifestyle: ✔ Second-hand when you can! If thrifting isn't for you, make a point to sell or donate your well-loved items to organizations that will re-sell or recycle them properly. 👕 👗 ✔ Fix drippy faucets, running toilets, and other leaks in your home as soon as you notice them. Your water bill and your local water conservationists will thank you. 🚿 👩🔧 ✔ When in doubt, throw it out! Recycling is important, but it does require some critical "know-how" to be effective. ♻ Google your municipality's guidelines for recycling and share them with your household. Food waste has always been our challenge at the Schaut House. 🤦♀️ We picked up a "starter" compost tumbler this weekend - I've heard composting is easier said than done without a home pick-up service, but we'll give it a shot this year! 👩🌾 If you're a sustainability nerd like me, I'd love to tell you about our clients that are investing in sustainability efforts here in Northeast Wisconsin. Send me a message to start the conversation: ✉️ lizzie.schaut@truitypartners.com 📞 920-215-1175 📱 920-315-3998 (text) #sustainability #EarthDay2024 #CSR #NewNorth #ReduceReuseRecycle

Pinyon is at the forefront of promoting sustainability wherever possible. As the new year begins, many people are getting ready to haul their Christmas tree down to the curb for trash pick-up, but did you know that there are several other more environmentally friendly options available for your tree? Some options for recycling your Christmas tree include: 🐐 Feeding the goats! Local farms are often happy to accept your tree, as they provide a tasty treat for the critters if the tree hasn’t been sprayed with pesticides. Skol Farm in Golden and Screaming Goat Acres in Colorado Springs feed donated trees to their goats every year, and many animal sanctuaries, such as OutPaws Sweet Home Sanctuary in Peyton, do as well. Mountain Flower Goat Dairy in Boulder is another location that will happily accept your tree for their goats to snack on. 🔥 Chopping up the tree and using it for campfires, backyard fire pits, or your fireplace. Just be sure to wear protective gear! (and be mindful of fire regulations) 🌼 Turning the tree into mulch and spreading it in gardens and around the base of shrubs and trees for healthier vegetation. Denver has a Treecycle https://lnkd.in/gVrHFDTh available at various locations throughout January for this purpose, as do most counties around the Metro area. The City of Centennial is offering recycling for both trees and string lights at multiple sites: https://lnkd.in/gZJ8UnaF By far the most sustainable option is a newer process that involves renting a potted Christmas tree from a designated nursery, then returning the tree back to the facility after the holidays. Most places deliver the tree right to your home and will also pick-up after Christmas. Some families rent the exact same tree year after year, and live trees shed their needles less often than cut trees. Once the tree has outgrown its pot, it is planted in the ground to continue growing. In the Denver Metro area, the program is still in its infancy, although places like CreekSide Tree Nursery in Niwot and Front Range Landscape and Nursery in Franktown have potted trees available for sale that you can then plant in your yard after the holiday. #TreeRecycling #Sustainability #ReuseYourChristmasTree

DIRT Charity nominated for the Earthshot Prize🌟🎉 🌎Every year, the Earthshot Prize celebrates innovators working to find solutions to the environmental challenges of our world: protecting and restoring nature, cleaning our air, reviving our oceans, building a waste-free world and fixing our climate. This year, Dirt Charity is nominated for their invaluable work in biodynamic agriculture. 🌱Dirt Charity is working worldwide to turn fashion into a climate solution, starting with the soil. Fashion is grown in soil, but the way we currently grow our raw materials cause harms our soil, and is a catalyst for climate change. Fashion crops such as wool, cotton, leather and linen must be grown in a way that heals soil and restores nature. 🪱To this purpose, DIRT Charity works with biodynamic agriculture. Biodynamically produced fashion materials have the power to regenerate our soil and contribute in this way to tacke climate change. Together the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International and Dirt Charity are pioneering a textile certification standard. Let's transform fashion from a climate change contributor to a climate change solution! 👉Find out more on Dirt Charity: https://bit.ly/43PaKqI #EarthshotPrize #Earth #Soil #FashionRevolution #FashionForChange #SustainableFashion #ClimateAction #Demeter #DemeterStandards #BiodynamicFashion #DIRTcharity #Biodynamic #BiodynamicFarming #Sustainability #ClimateChange #ClimateAction

As we welcome 2024, consider recycling your live tree after the holidays. Keep workers and equipment safe: no tree stands, decorations or bags. While wreaths and remaining stock from commercial tree sellers are not accepted, the program has chipped an average of 6,300 trees a year since 2008. Chipped trees are used on trails and as natural cover. Chipping also reduces the chance of dried out trees becoming becoming tinder when left to dry naturally. https://lnkd.in/gnfa99Be
