Did you know there is a 20% reduction in hospital stays for patients who need Bladder Cancer Removal? You might be wondering, how's this possible? Right? I found a research report recently, and it is quite interesting! A study named "JAMA," published by the UCL and the University of Sheffield, came with fascinating results. Scientists at the University of Sheffield conducted a clinical trial on 100 patients. How was the trial conducted? 100 patients were divided into two groups. One group received 'Robotic Surgeries,' aka RAS. The other group went through the 'Traditional Open Surgery." Guess what they found? The ones who underwent "Robotic Surgeries" had to stay at hospitals for a shorter time! Meaning? Patients recovered quickly and had fewer complications, such as bleeding. How was this achieved? Robotic surgeries were done using 'Robots,' which helped surgeons make smaller incisions and be highly accurate. Result? Faster recovery times, shorter stays in the hospital, and happy patients! All of this was made possible with the help of RPA and AI combined! Patients with bladder cancer are the major benefactors of this advancement! Can the use of robots be extended to other surgeries? Maybe heart surgeries? Share your views in the comments! 🎉 Exciting Announcement! 🎉 We are thrilled to announce that our recent work, titled "FLIm-Based in Vivo Classification of Residual Cancer in the Surgical Cavity During Transoral Robotic Surgery," will be presented at MICCAI23 as an oral presentation on 10/09/2023! 🎙️📄 🌟 Research Highlights: This work makes a significant leap towards refining surgical procedures and ensuring the complete removal of cancerous tissues. By augmenting label-free FLIm with ML, we are able to meticulously interrogate the surgical cavity, offering a promising solution to the limitations of frozen section analysis. It underscores the potential of integrating advanced imaging techniques with robotic surgery to facilitate precise and timely interventions, ultimately improving patient outcomes. 📌 Read the Full Paper Here: https://lnkd.in/gEmR25nk Feel free to delve into the details by exploring the published paper and reach out for any further discussions, queries, or collaborations! #MICCAI2023 #CancerResearch #RoboticSurgery #MedicalInnovation #HealthTech

Optiscan Imaging Ltd's latest InVue™ device marks a significant step in the evolution of pathology. By moving from disparate analogue processes, to putting live digital insights directly in the hands of surgeons, InVue™ can improve the speed and accuracy of treatment to enhance patient outcomes. “The potential benefits flowing from the InVue™ device cannot be over-estimated. Diagnostic pathology is such a critical component in the surgical treatment of cancer, and for so long it has been disconnected from this process. InVue™ brings pathology and surgery together in the operating theatre to enhance the capabilities of both, and ultimately facilitate faster and more accurate patient care.” said Dr Camile Farah, CEO and Managing Director of Optiscan.
