Back in 2003 I wrote a seminar work on Google being the gatekeeper of information and the huge responsibility it has over the education of future generations. I remember struggling with finding in-depth studies on the world wide web’s effect on the perception of reality in the short and long term. 20 years down the road and a few social media platforms later, I believe it is safe to say we have officially entered into the post-truth era, and those platforms have become the new educators, subverting (western) society right in front of our eyes. This is the era of social engineers stunting the brain development of both young and older people and controlling the narrative while taking advantage of the fact that (a) truth and facts are of no interest anymore and (b) the average attention span is not longer than the length of a TikTok real, that is five seconds. So they use that, create a catchy slogan like ‘from the river to the sea’ and spread it all over social media, using fake photos and fake information - and before you know it - it’s the 1940s all over again, yet this time - on steroids. The best marketing doesn't feel like marketing. Yet rest assured, this is what it’s all about. It’s way easier to seize the media to control the narrative, than to physically invade a country. And yes, terrorists have already invaded the western world. They live among you, ripping off the flags of the countries they live in, brainwashing your children’s minds, spreading pure hatred hidden behind catchy slogans. This is the golden age of terrorism, which enjoys unprecedented public support, through manipulative mind engineering. We are the frogs getting boiled and they are slowly turning up the temperature. This is a marketing war and TikTok is the greatest Trojan horse ever invented. But not only TikTok. Also Instagram/X/Facebook. There’s no use in fighting lies with the truth, unless you can wrap it in a 5 second reel. You win a marketing war with better marketing. You beat their slogan with a better slogan. Who cares what it says. Instant. Catchy. Emotional. This is how you master the narrative these days. #hamasisisis #freegazafromhamas #thewestisnext #israelfirsttheneurope
