The $22 Billion Question… Is Our Data Doing Enough? As an industry...we generate $22 billion in output in the US alone. But do lawmakers grasp our true economic impact? It's time our data worked as hard as we do. A recent study unveiled fitness’s real impact: → 55,000 facilities nationwide  → 546 sectors influenced  → Jobs in every U.S. district  → 432,942 jobs created  → $10B in wages paid  → Avg. Studio employs 10 people → $10.6B in taxes contributed Numbers tell a powerful story. And they prove our industry is an economic driver. BY SHARING DATA WE CAN: → Advocate for supportive policies  → Highlight need for fair tax treatment  → Drive post-pandemic recovery  → Promote health and wellness But the work continues.  We must collect, analyze, and share insights.  Every data point matters. We need to be data-driven advocates. And make sure lawmakers recognize our vital role. In building stronger, healthier communities. PS: These numbers are cited from John Dunham and Associates who covered 55,000 privately owned health club and studio facilities for Health & Fitness Association (formerly IHRSA). #boutiquefitness #fitness #fitnessindustry #fintesstrends #data #innovation

Recently, I had a conversation with someone whose position was that healthcare will fight fitness because fitness naturally opposes their business model. It's hard to argue against. I believe, like you, that data can make things move. IMO, the problem is companies looking to create silos around "their" data. In reality, it is the people's data. They need to be empowered over it to build a wall of consensus that makes the market move. At GroeFit, our starting point for this is a gym member engagement and retention tool using AI to provide real-time insights and facilitate personalized interactions. Beyond retention, we are developing Power Personas—a comprehensive point of integration for all things health and fitness related. These digital avatars empower people by giving them control over their data, transforming it into a valuable asset that enhances their fitness journey and overall well-being. However, from that conversation, I am realizing it may be more of an uphill battle than I originally imagined. So I need support. Would love to talk more on the topic with you.
