Tis the season to celebrate! Often at this time of year, we are looking forward to switching off, recharge the batteries and have time off with family. It is also the perfect opportunity for reflection. Celebrate your work wins, your own and that of your team. That stuff shouldn’t just be reserved for local business awards! It’s too easy to get caught up in the daily grind or the big project, moving from task deadline and planning review meeting to the next. If you’re a team leader, now is the perfect time to reflect on team achievements as a group, and actively engage the team on what can be put in place to ensure future success. Consistent small wins move the needle. One tool I used during project review meetings was to zoom out of the project, look at the overall progress and not just the stage objectives. In this way the whole team can see the progress, and take shared ownership for completion. Active communication and engagement are crucial to building cohesive teams. How do you commit to celebrating yourself and staff? It’s not about the pizza Friday’s, or waiting for the xmas party or summer bbq. Those things are great but building a belonging, an aligned vision and active engagement so that the team knows you’re not just in boat, but you’re all pulling in same direction.

As we celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary, my husband and I reflected on various aspects of our relationship. Among them, we highlighted the importance of joint efforts—a fundamental pillar in our union. This reflection led us to consider the relevance of working together in the financial area, essential for building a healthy couple relationship. We like to approach this topic from two perspectives: cooperation and collaboration. Cooperation tends to be transactional—'You do your part, I'll do mine.' It's like an assembly line, lacking dynamic human connection. On the other hand, collaboration is relational; it involves a commitment to a shared goal, where individual achievements contribute to a common mission. Collaboration is my favorite because it's not about assigning responsibilities but about multiplying capabilities and forming a truly synergistic team. Those in long-term relationships will understand that steering towards collaboration is not just following a trend; there is evidence supporting its success.

Let’s Celebrate Our Wins This Friday!   We made it through another work week! Before we kick off the weekend, let’s take a moment to reflect on our accomplishments over the past few days. No matter how small or big, recognizing our wins is important. It builds self-confidence, motivation and reinforces that we're making a difference. Wins could be anything from finishing a major project to simply getting through a stressful day with a positive attitude. Try not to focus on the disappointments – they happen. Learn from them and let them go. Focus instead on what went well and give yourself permission to celebrate those achievements – big or small. They matter. Conventionally many of us align success career, & associate celebration with our personal lives or leisure time. Today marks my 100th day at Jewson Partnership Solutions. It has been exciting so far, filled with warmth, support, and new opportunities. Here are a few highlights from this milestone: 🤝 Onboarding and Welcome: From day one, the open and supportive culture at Jewson Partnership Solutions, has helped me understand the business and made me feel like a valued part of the team.   🎨 Projects and Initiatives: Currently, I'm enjoying being involved in some new initiatives, such as the rebranding project of our sister business, George Boyd UK . Exciting times ahead as we shape the future of our brand!  🌐 Company Culture: What impresses me the most is the open and transparent communication within the wider STARK Building Materials UK. Frank discussions, peer support, and an inclusive environment, make every day a pleasure to be part of.  🤗 Colleague Support: A big shoutout to my colleagues for their unwavering support. From meeting invitations, to inclusive email conversations, and message groups, their effort is appreciated. 🔑 Observations: One key observation I'd like to share, is the importance of a simple but clear strategy that everyone owns.
