Remember the good old days of #Altavista, the chirping sound of a 56k US Robotics modem or going to the public library to check someting? 25 years ago - Enter #Google. It's incredible to see how far we've come since then! From a humble search engine to a tech giant that became an integral part of our daily lives, and quantum machines most likely about to replace us. Hey - we know everything (about you) 😉 Here's to the next 25 years of innovation, discovery, and bridging my 5 second attention span before I lose interest :) #Google #Google25 #Technology #Innovation #Altavista #DigitalEvolution #Mountainview

Like everyone in business I have been astounded by NVIDIS remarkable achievement of reaching a market valuation of $2 trillion. So getting the opportunity to listen to the insightful thoughts from Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIS was something I didn’t want to miss. There are so many topics covered, from #generativeAi, exciting as it’s no longer retrieval based to my favourite #FirstPrincipals. Here were some of my key takeaways. Jensen talks a lot about his team, how he is ‘surrounded by geniuses, we have singularly the best management team in the world’. Thats everyone, not just the engineers and designers. His team say his leadership style is very engaged - no task is beneath him and he welcomes the opportunity to help them. He has built a culture where everyone reasons through challenges and empowers all to make decisions which builds creativity and resilience. I love that he believes in leading others to greatness, should be the reason every management team exists. When it comes to 1st principles, he always remembers what the organisation is designed to do. He shared that as the architect of your own company, it's crucial to define the operating system, which is the culture that drives everything. It's this culture that has propelled NVIDIA to cross the remarkable milestone of $2T valuation." #NVIDIA #Leadership #Insights #2Trillion https://lnkd.in/eKhybNB9

The most interesting thing in tech: will we ever be able to talk to whales? We're getting more information about the sounds they make and the ways that they communicate. But will we ever actually be able to fully understand them? It's a real debate among ocean researchers, and it gets into questions that are almost spiritual. #davos #wef2024 #mostinterestingthingintech

AI supercomputer clusters need cheap reliable power - Australia will be sidelined unless we make some course corrections. We need to increase our #Gas production & start planning for #Nuclear. The good news is I see more and more people discussing the need for nuclear and more Gas to enter the generations systems. No matter how expert we are with the our ‘models’ if we don’t have the access to all power sources, and other countries do, we are just optimizing the paint colour, and sending the inovation and jobs overseas.
I visited xAI and Tesla supercomputer clusters in Memphis & Texas, and was blown away by the rapid rate of progress. It was fascinating to watch Elon & team constantly improve every aspect of the process. Also, as a human, it was a bit surreal (and humbling) to walk around inside the "brain" of a giant superintelligent computer that is quickly becoming more powerful. The future is going to be wild! 🤯

Wow, that sounds like an incredible experience! 🌟 It must have been amazing to see firsthand the cutting-edge technology behind xAI and Tesla’s supercomputer clusters. Elon Musk and his team have been at the forefront of AI innovation, and it’s fascinating to hear about the rapid progress and constant improvements you observed. 🚀 Walking through the “brain” of such a powerful system must have been both awe-inspiring and humbling. The scale and complexity of these supercomputers highlight just how quickly AI and machine learning are evolving. 🤯 What were some of the most impressive aspects of the technology or processes you saw? And how do you think these advancements might shape the future of AI? 🌐💡 The future indeed looks wild and full of possibilities! Can’t wait to see what’s next on the horizon! 🚀

‼️I am truly inspired by this short video. Especially the second part of it, which, in my opinion, is a very accurate ilustration of genuine #leadership 🚀 👇👇👇 The Nvidia’s founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, according to Forbes, now ranks as the 20th richest person in the world, with a net worth of $72.2 billion. During a recent “View From The Top” interview at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Huang was asked why he created a flat organizational structure for his company. In his response, he reflected on his humble beginnings. “To me, no task is beneath me because remember, I used to be a dishwasher, and I mean that, and I used to clean toilets. I mean, I cleaned a lot of toilets, I've cleaned more toilets than all of you combined, and some of them, you just can't unsee,” he said. He continued, “I don't know what to tell you, that's life, and so you can't show me a task that's beneath me.” Huang emphasizes his willingness to help others by sharing his approach to problem-solving. He states that his assistance is not about whether a task is beneath him but about being of service: by demonstrating his reasoning process on various challenges — whether they're ambiguous, incalculable, or seemingly daunting — he empowers others. #empowerment #resilience #management

So this very interesting thing in tech from Nicholas Thompson about whether humans will ever understand whales made me think about the communications and conceptual gap that sometimes exists between healthcare professionals and patients. And the great job that many health content creators and health communications specialists do to help bridge that gap. When you experience a health challenge or condition as a person, versus understand it through the conceptual framework of medical training and medical language, it can mean that huge data gaps open up in a consultation. For example, a woman in her forties struggling to sleep might go to see the doctor and describe the sleep disturbance without realising that other health niggles she’s just putting up with or adapting to could create a totally different picture for the healthcare professional that might flag peri/menopause. Or embarrassment might mean a woman goes to talk about hot flushes but doesn’t mention that it’s actually her bladder issues or increasingly uncomfortable sex that really affect her well-being and quality of life. So vaginal oestrogen she might need remains unprescribed. And a medical professional who has been through standard training that does not touch in depth on menopause may not have the conceptual framework to apply their skills and training in a way that delivers the best outcomes. On the communications side, a rushed 10-minute appointment crammed into an already long and stressful day, plus the medical terminology can mean a patient feels unheard and baffled as they leave the appointment. But equally a patient who goes into that 10 minutes without realising that some prep would really help to make it effective could be communicating in a long-winded way about symptoms and issues that don’t give the professional the information they need to use standard diagnostic questionnaires and validated processes to get to a diagnosis and treatment. And we all know how easy it is as a patient to say we’ve done all the things our doctors asked us, we don’t drink much alcohol, we’ve taken the pills and done the physio even if we haven’t. So how can they possibly help us to overcome the blockers and barriers to a treatment regimen if we won’t even open up about them? What do you think are the key points for making the most of a short consultation? What do the healthcare professionals in my network wish patients would do? And vice versa? #Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang got visibly upset when asked what to do about Hallucinations with generative models. He said its a solvable problem: "Add a rule: For every single answer, you have to look up the answer". Compare the facts contained in the source to known truths, and if the answer is factually inaccurate — even partially — discard the whole source. Our recent product: aimon-rely, allows you to do just that with very little integration, cost or latency overhead. Check us out! (Link in the comments section below)
