Road Safety Alert: Unmarked Roads Last weekend, while showing an overseas friend around the city, she asked a crucial question, "How does one know their lane?" I chuckled and said, "by using all your relevant senses." But on a serious note, unmarked roads can be confusing and hazardous for motorists. I distinctly remember a notice during the expressway construction promising road markings once completed. However, it seems like that plan has been put on hold or is it still WIP? Navigating traffic on unmarked roads can be a real challenge, and I sincerely hope this issue gets addressed soon for everyone's safety. #RoadSafety #MarkTheRoads #SafeDriving #TrafficAwareness

Strike of the week! The extent of bridge strikes by over height vehicles is much more pervasive than people might think. INDUSTRY NEWS: The Australian Government has announced $33.3 million in funding towards improving road safety amongst 56 known crash sites under the 2024-25 Black Spot Program. Safety measures such as traffic lights, safety barriers, roundabouts, and better pedestrian access will be installed in high-risk areas. Key projects currently being funded includes: - Eramosa Road, Somerville: $1.37M for 40km/h speed ones and traffic managements - Calder Highway, Irymple: $1.38M for road widening, painted separators, and safety barriers. - MacArthur Street, Sale: $1.22M for a single-lane roundabout with pedestrians This latest round of funding is part of a larger effort to reduce the worsening road toll on Australian roads. Today marks the first anniversary of the successful opening of the I-66 Express Outside the Beltway project in Virginia. A managed lanes project of $3.7 billion private investment, one of the largest public-private infrastructure initiatives in the United States, made possible only through a partnership with the Commonwealth of Virginia. Despite the challenges they had to face, the Commonwealth and our team demonstrated their outstanding capabilities and commitment to excellence. In the words of our chairman, this project is "an example of what we can accomplish when the public and private sectors work together." The 22.5-mile project has transformed the roadway, and it is now safer and more reliable for commuters on their daily commute. Since opening, more than 1.85 million vehicles have utilized the managed lanes, with an average of 370,000 vehicles driving the managed lanes per month. The project has resulted in a 36% reduction in peak-hour travel times compared to before construction.
