Championing the changemakers 🌍 | Empowering nonprofits with top-notch professional development and on-demand technical assistance
I am absolutely guilty of overusing some of these words and phrases! 🤦♀️ I don't think we should stop using all of these, but rather, be intentional with our word choices! I think our sector has a shared vocabulary that allows us to quickly find the other "team players" but it's absolutely true that it can result in miscommunication and dilution of the message. We can, and SHOULD, have a more direct and clear way of talking with everyone - especially when it comes to the work we are doing. ❓ What words would you add to this list? **(Personally, I think silo should be on here - to technical, just say what we mean: "nonprofit leaders feel isolated from one another!")

A corporation is a living organism; it has to continue to shed its skin. Methods have to change. Focus has to change. Values have to change. The sum total of those changes is transformation. - Andrew Grove Whether for-profit, nonprofit, or government agency, the ability to change is essential for growth and progress. Change must also be present at all levels, micro, meso, macro, otherwise we remain stagnant and atrophy. How are you and your team leading change at all levels of your organization?

Customer Marketing Leader | Amplifying the voice of the customer and empowering growth through advocacy and engagement
🎉 I am thrilled to share that I’ve been appointed to the cultural council for North Attleboro, a local chapter of the Massachusetts Cultural Council! (I’m talking “raise your right hand”, three-year term, official). 🙋♀️ This is: -Voluntary -Unpaid -Going to consume a portion of my already busy schedule So why am I thrilled? Because I’m passionate about community engagement and when asked why I applied for the position, my simple answer was, “We could do better”. 💪 As a marketing professional, I’m naturally inclined to observe interactions and identify areas of opportunity. And it’s really hard to keep good ideas to myself. 😏 Having a mindset of “if it doesn’t exist, make it happen” has given me tremendous leadership and growth opportunities, from establishing professional networking groups to getting involved with charity organizations. Usually, I’m “making it happen” for the first time with little to no experience, but I am confident I can make a difference. And the organizations that bring me onboard agree. 🎨🤝 🔬 Culture works through the arts, humanities, and sciences to enrich communities, grow the economy, increase accessibility, and foster individual creativity. Here’s your reminder to learn continuously, be confident, and do good things. #communityengagement #volunteering #dogoodfeelgood #leadership

Your commitment to your cause is what drives meaningful change. Secondly, collaborate and engage with others who share your vision. Together, you can amplify your impact and achieve even more. Thirdly, embrace innovation and creativity in your approach. New solutions and strategies can lead to even greater success. Fourthly, remember that every effort counts, no matter how big or small. Each contribution brings us closer to a better world. Lastly, take time to celebrate your accomplishments and reflect on your journey. Your work is making a difference, and that's something to be proud of. Remember, the ripple effect of your kindness and generosity will be felt for generations to come. The value of interdisciplinary teams and sustained partnerships are two of the key takeaways from meeting this week with Lina Dostilio, Vice Chancellor of Engagement and Community Affairs at Pitt. This semester my research with the University of Pittsburgh Center for Sustainable Business focuses on social impact at the community level. I've found that while corporate community engagement is not new, there is an increased interest in corporate social responsibility (ESG and SI) for job hunters and employees. People want to know they're making a difference; responsible corporate community engagement, philanthropy, and volunteerism can be a part of that. Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship says, "...the benefits of corporate community involvement are two-fold, providing positive returns to local charitable organizations and neighborhoods and boosting company performance indicators, such as reputation and employee engagement. As your company builds partnerships and working relationships with local community nonprofits and service-based organizations, neighborhoods are strengthened.” There are big opportunities to help strengthen communities and interdisciplinary teams (collaborations and coalitions) along with sustained partnerships are key to long-term and intentional impact. #MBA #MSW in progress
