Lighthouse Midstream Services’ Post

Did you know that P2P stands for Point-to-Point Verification? Point-to-point verification in pipeline control rooms is crucial for ensuring the accurate monitoring and control of pipeline operations. It helps identify and correct issues that could lead to incorrect data readings, control failures, or safety hazards, thereby enhancing the reliability and safety of the pipeline system. Here's a peek into the P2P verification process for pipeline control rooms:  ▪ Demand Scan with the Field Technician: During the verification, the control room will synchronize with the field technician to ensure accurate data capture and validation.    ▪ Span Psi, Diff Psi, and Temperature Transmitters: The technician will span these transmitters from zero to Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP).    ▪ Alarm Confirmation: As each point is spanned, the control room will verify that the appropriate alarm is received.    ▪ Field Consistency Check: The control room will verify that each point on all runs is reading the same as the field.    ▪ Gas Properties Verification: The control room will also verify that each point is the reading the same gas properties as the field. This thorough process ensures that pipelines operate safely and efficiently, protecting both the environment and the communities we serve. #lighthouseserv #guidinglight #oilandgas #energy #outsourcingservices
