This week is INTERNATIONAL DARK SKIES week. We all know we need night lighting for safety and security. The issues we have with light pollution are mostly created by a combination of poor design and luminaire selection. The night sky, adorned with stars, planets, and celestial wonders, has captivated humanity for millennia. However, the encroachment of artificial lighting poses a threat to this natural spectacle. Light pollution not only obscures our view of the cosmos but also disrupts ecosystems, human health, and astronomical research. To safeguard the night sky, we must adopt responsible lighting practices. Here are some essential steps: Opt for full-cutoff fixtures that direct light downward and minimize upward glare.
