Diversity means a lot when it touches you personally. It doesn't strictly mean that you need to be one to know one... Without entering into personal details, I have seen many individuals reaching out their true potential and being fully recognised once they felt welcomed and accepted. Diversity is about creating an environment where everyone feels respected and valued for who they are, regardless of their background, identity, or experiences. When people feel safe and supported, they are more likely to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities in meaningful ways.
In this candid conversation, Mario Papillon, our CEO for IRT Business unit, sheds light on the personal and professional hurdles that LGBTQIA+ individuals encounter and the significance of Pride Month as a time for reflection and celebration of diversity. He also provides practical tips on how we can support and stand in solidarity with the community. #PrideMonth #LGBTQIA #Inclusion

This Pride Month, we stand united with the LGBTQIA+ community. We celebrate their resilience, their achievements, and their ongoing fight for equality. ✊ We're committed to creating a workplace that's truly inclusive, where everyone feels valued and respected for who they are. Here's how we're taking action: Advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights: We actively support initiatives that promote equality and acceptance for the LGBTQIA+ community. Educating ourselves: We're committed to ongoing learning about LGBTQIA+ experiences and identities. Challenging biases: We recognize that unconscious bias exists, and we're committed to creating a space where open dialogue and education can dismantle these biases. As Pride continues, let's all recommit to building a more inclusive world. #DiversityEquityInclusion #PrideAtWork #BeAnAlly

Today is National Coming Out Day. This day was founded in 1988 to mark the anniversary of the 1987 March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights. According to Spring Health, here are some ideas for creating a more inclusive workplace: -Develop inclusive policies and workplace -Use pronouns and stop misgendering -Educate employees and leaders at all levels -Become an ally (be careful not to perform performative allyship -Develop a culture of belonging Most importantly, be willing to get out of your comfort zone. Mistakes are part of the learning process so learning to be a more inclusive workplace means continusouly growing and learning. Want to learn more? The plus in GBA + represents intersectionality. Why is that important? People with disabilities and LGBTQ2+ are the only equity groups that are inclusive of all equity groups. Resources are not shared equitably, and equity groups typically have less access to resources leading to higher rates of disabilities. Breaking down the barriers for these two groups also requires breaking down the barriers for all equity groups as they intersect. The path to inclusion has always been flexibility to include all who are different and this requires an intersectional lens.
