✨ A Story of Collaboration and Standardization As product designers, we often find ourselves at the crossroads of innovation and performance. I'm excited to share a recent project that demonstrates the power of cross-departmental collaboration: introducing dark mode to our system! Initially, I realized that achieving this user-requested feature was seamless teamwork with the development team. Here's how we did it: 🔧Tokenization: The Key to Scalable Design Design tokens are our secret weapon for keeping things consistent. Imagine colors, fonts, and styles all stored in one place, making updates a snap. This not only made adding Dark Mode super smooth, but it also brought designers and developers closer as a team! ⛱ Streamlining for Efficiency But our journey did not stop there. We took this opportunity to simplify our color palette, reducing it from 20 colors to a manageable 10. This not only simplified the development process for Dark Mode but also increased the overall stability of the design and user experience. 👩🏫 The Power of Collaboration This collaboration between design and development is a prime example of how working together towards a common goal can lead to fantastic results. Their insights and expertise were useful in turning our design tokens into a living, breathing feature within our system. Not only did we deliver a highly requested feature, but we also optimized our design system for future development. I'm thrilled with the new Dark Mode experience, and I know many of you will be too! 🎯 This is just the beginning of our journey towards a more inclusive and adaptable design system. Dark Mode looks awesome! You guys crushed it. 🎉 Here's to more amazing updates! It seems you took the design by data seriously and I hope you gain more achievements during your time working on this panel. Is there a chance that you might create a simple course or seminar walk us through the process in which you made the decisions and changes? It would be helpful, and I appreciate it. Thanks
