Generative AI fuels "brand safety" concerns?
Apparently yes, per this article by Patrick C. published on the Wall Street Journal website.
Brand safety in this context refers to ads for a brand appearing within or adjacent to content the brand feels is undesirable, for any number of reasons.
And the issue is generative AI makes it really easy to run websites for the purpose of generating ad revenue by generating high volumes of crap click-bait content.
Which to the website owner is good, but to the brand, not so much.
So the question for brands is how do they ensure their ads are not shown on the low quality click-bait article websites?
The answer, ironically, is likely to be more AI.
So, it appears we have an arms race.
