I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the insightful and thought-provoking webinar on body image that I had the pleasure of attending this Sunday morning 🌄 The session was conducted by Saumya Garg and Anvita Sethi who truly illuminated the complex and often sensitive topic of body image with expertise and empathy. The timing of this webinar couldn't have been better, as fostering a positive body image is something I have been struggling with after becoming a mother. This webinar really got me thinking......... Becoming a mom is an incredible journey filled with love, joy, and challenges. Amidst the sleepless nights and baby snuggles, there's a side of the postpartum experience that often goes unspoken—the changes our bodies undergo. It's an adjustment, both physically and mentally, and it's okay to acknowledge the impact it can have on our self-perception. As I embrace this new chapter, I'm learning to appreciate the strength and resilience my body has shown during pregnancy and childbirth. However, I'd be lying if I said that the societal pressure to "bounce back" to pre-pregnancy shape hasn't affected me. It's a journey—one that requires self-love, patience, and a shift in perspective. I believe it's crucial for us, as a community, to normalize these conversations. Let's break the stigma surrounding postpartum bodies and celebrate the diversity of motherhood. Each stretch mark tells a story, each scar has its own significance, and every change is a testament to the incredible process of creating life. To my fellow mothers, let's support and uplift each other. Let's share our stories, our triumphs, and our insecurities. Because in our vulnerability, we find strength, and in our shared experiences, we build a network of understanding. Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences below. Let's continue this important dialogue. 💖👶🌈 #MotherhoodRealness #BodyImageJourney #NewMomLife #SupportEachOther

It's 2:37 am, and I'm sitting in a client's house, just watching their baby snooze. It's moments like these that give tired parents a well-deserved break. You know, their situation takes me right back to my own postpartum days—my son had terrible reflux, and my daughter struggled with breastfeeding because of tongue and lip ties. I remember those nights when my son wouldn't sleep more than 2-3 hours, and I'd be there, constantly replacing his pacifier. It was exhausting! And with my daughter, despite all my efforts, nursing just didn't work out, which left me feeling like I failed at motherhood by around the 15-week mark. Funny thing is, in trying to be this "perfect" mom, I forgot about taking care of myself. I mean, who knew a simple shower could feel like a guilty pleasure? Looking back, I wish I'd known that self-care isn't selfish—it's essential. You can't be your best for your kids if you're running on empty, right? I think there's this misconception that sacrificing everything for your kids makes you a hero. But honestly, it just leads to burnout and resentment. You've probably heard it before: "You can't pour from an empty cup." And let me tell you, it's so true! That's why I'm super passionate about helping families navigate postpartum in a healthier way. If you're feeling anxious about this phase, you're not alone. I've got a workshop coming up called "Postpartum: Physical Recovery and Self-Care." We'll dive into all things self-care, recovery, and how to get the support you need. So, mark your calendar for Wed, 1/24/24, 7pm-8:30pm, and join us on Zoom. It's $97, but if you're one of Doula Deb's clients, you get a sweet 50% off! Just comment "postpartum" or check out the events page on my website to register. How about you? Whether you're expecting or already in the thick of postpartum, how are you taking care of yourself these days?

It’s been a while since I’ve done an intro and my posts about Adele are drawing some renewed attention so… let’s revisit, shall we? Hi, I’m Madison. I’m a singer and coach helping women harness the benefits of physiological changes [like pregnancy, menopause and even illness or injury] to create thriving lives and careers. There was a moment about 2 years ago when I realized it was all bullshit: How we talk about fitness, wellness marketed towards women, weight stigma, postpartum support, hormones, vocal technique, vocal training, caretaking, female reproductive care, pain management, movement, aging, anxiety, depression… Most of what we know about these things are objectively incorrect or incomplete AND this gap in education is actually preventing us from living fully in our bodies and our lives. For too long we've been at odds with our bodies and it’s time to start writing a new storyline. You can live pain free, you can be healthier and happier, you can achieve more and be more fulfilled… oftentimes by doing LESS. During these big physiological changes your brain is actually primed for transformation. With precise information and resources you can start to create a new way of being that’s easier and better than ever before. So instead of seeing this challenging time as a hindrance, I’m offering you the opportunity to use it as a springboard to a whole new level of awesome. You can get the results you truly desire with way less effort - whether that’s singing or dancing or simply being. ✨These are gifts ready for you to uncover.✨ I currently offer private coaching and periodic group workshops to help you discover how powerful this work can be. If you’re curious what this could do for you, send me a message and we can chat more! Let’s get ready for some truly amazing transformations 🦋 #introduction #women #singers #female #bodylove #coaching #transformation #aging #menopause #pregnancy #illness #injury #recovery #brainchange #neuroplasticity

7 months ago I gave birth to our baby, and i felt the weight and pressure to "snap back" to my pre-pregnancy bodies. I know this is something many women feel after giving birth and it TOXIC as hell The truth is, this culture can be damaging, both physically and mentally. We all know it is unrealistic to be snatched 2 weeks after giving birth but still, we fall into the trap of unrealistic expectations Everybody is different, and each postpartum journey is unique. With this baby, it has taken me 7 months to get semi-close to my old weight and there are plenty of clothes I cannot even think about wearing right now. The constant emphasis on getting back in shape overlooks the emotional and mental challenges new moms face. It can lead to feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, and even postpartum depression. If you are a new mom, chill mama it will happen, l but it cannot happen by force. As with everything in life, things ebb and flow! if you are a new mom i would focus on: • Recovery • Sleep • Hydration • Sunlight • Walking You are doing great! BTW 2024 is my glow-up year, yes I am CLAIMING IT! PS. i am posting this picture because i am simply feeling amazing in this pic, lets normalize women feeling good about themself regardless of body weight! • 📷 Frida Waywell • 🥳 Business & Dreams Gala ---- I am a high-achieving customer success manager and a fitness enthusiast currently on track to become a certified Fitness coach and dietician. 📌 Ring the 🔔 to get notified each time I post for more posts on how to improve your work/life balance and get fitness inspiration.

Skin-to-Skin Contact: The Golden Hour of Bonding and Benefits for Your Baby In the first precious moments after birth, a magical connection takes place that can profoundly impact your baby's life. Skin-to-skin contact, often referred to as "the golden hour," is a remarkable practice that involves placing your newborn directly on your bare chest. This intimate moment isn't just about warmth and comfort; it's a vital component of your baby's well-being and development. Let's explore the incredible benefits of this simple yet powerful practice. 1. Regulates Body Temperature: Skin-to-skin contact helps regulate a baby's body temperature, ensuring they stay warm and comfortable, especially in the crucial early hours. 2. Stimulates Brain Development: The close contact stimulates the baby's sensory and brain development. It encourages the release of important hormones for growth and overall well-being. 3. Pain Relief: The touch of a parent's warm skin can have an analgesic effect, soothing any discomfort or pain the baby might be experiencing. 4. Reduces Stress: It lowers the stress levels in both the baby and the parent, creating a more relaxed environment for bonding and breastfeeding. 5. Boosts Milk Production: For breastfeeding mothers, skin-to-skin contact enhances the release of oxytocin, which boosts milk production, ensuring your baby gets the best nourishment. 6. Emotional Security: Skin-to-skin creates a strong emotional foundation for the child. It builds trust, a sense of security, and a foundation for a loving parent-child relationship. 7. Early Weight Gain: Babies who experience skin-to-skin contact often exhibit improved weight gain, which is essential for their healthy development. 8. Enhances Sleep Patterns: It can lead to better sleep patterns in infants, as the comfort and security of skin-to-skin contact contribute to longer and more restful sleeps. 9. Reduces the Risk of Postpartum Depression: For mothers, the close connection can help reduce the risk of postpartum depression, enhancing overall mental well-being.
