2 weeks ago I celebrated my 8th anniversary at Anyline Here are some learning for everyone, who isn't sure if he/she/they is qualified enough for a job or company. My journey so far was quite a roller coaster. From a team of 15 to team of 100, from internship to leading a team. There will be never an easy, linear way within your career - but exactly this makes it exciting. These are my learnings so far from my 8 years journey: 11.2015 Internship Design & Marketing It took me 3 weeks to apply for this internship, because I didn't know anything about OCR, SDK, or the software business overall and wasn't sure if I fit. Learning: If you don’t try, you will never now. 02.2016 Product Designer After 3 months of internship, the team saw my potential and hired me. It didn’t matter that I didn’t know about our products when I started, but it did matter that I was highly motivated to learn about it and contribute to the companies success. Learning: A really good leader sees your potential and supports it. 01.2017 Brand Manager My passion was always in branding and creating awareness. With the culture we have at Anyline I talked to my team lead and I got the possibility to develop myself further. Learning: There will be no change, if you don’t speak up for yourself. 01.2019 Senior Brand Manager I started to have a small team of designers and event managers and started to do less design by myself, as I realised my strengths are within other areas. Learning: Accept your strengths & weakness. 03.2020 VP of Branding Strategy My contribution was recognised and I got a promotion to VP of Branding Strategy Learning: Resilience and loyalty will pay off (most of the time) 05.2021 VP of Strategic Partnership Due to some restructuring a new opportunity was offered to me and I decided to develop in a different direction, by leading our strategic partnerships. In this 12 months I learned so many new things, that I was a bit scared about: like working on 100 pages of legal contracts Learning: Try new things - the time is never lost as you gain new experience. 07.2022 Head of Awareness Marketing After 1 year within a new area, I realised my heart still beats for branding and creating awareness. And thankfully there was another door opening within Anyline for my next step. Learning (all of the above) - My team lead saw my strength & potential - I spoke up for myself & addressed my need - I gained new experience, which helps me in my new role - I accepted that my strengths lies within branding & awareness If you are wondering, what I'm exactly doing today, you can watch my 60 seconds video

When I started my career, I wanted to stay in the same company for a really long time (at that time, this meant 15 to 20 years). Because that's what everyone around me seemed to be doing. They joined a company, maybe shifted a couple of times, and then stayed in the same organization till they retired ✅ What I understood later was, though everyone around me was doing this, it was not the norm. After some research (though not very in-dept, I must admit), I found that on an average, people change their jobs every 2 to 5 years 🤷♀️ So very naively, I thought, "Ok, let me also do that. It's what everyone seems to be doing and it's working for them" (I was in my early twenties, so no judgements there 😁) It took me many years to understand the truth behind it all. The truth being, it is not a mandate to changes companies every 2 or 3 years, nor is it a mandate to spend 20 years of your career in a single organization. There is no mandate (yes, there is no secret ingredient 🐼). So after many failures, hasty decisions, & short-term thinking I realized, the best way to decide how long to stay in a place is by choosing the option that aligns with your long- term career goals and short-term priorities. Do what's best for you at that moment but without losing focus on your future aspirations 💪 This is what I did when I joined Leadle as a part-time consultant 2 years ago. And if someone invented an affordable way to time travel, I would go back to the "me" 2 years back and profusely thank her, because this is one of the best decisions I have ever made 😎 The last 2 years with Leadle have been nothing short of an adventure. Some dates are always special such as today, the date when we launched Silver Talkies Club six years ago in 2018, based on the inputs from attendees of our events. They wanted to meet more often, know their co-participants better and have more fun and engaging opportunities. Hence Silver Talkies Club was born in a time and age when active ageing, loneliness and isolation among older adults were not spoken about or discussed much in our country. I was in fact told by many peers that I was playing in a small niche field. Fast forward to 2024, almost every new player in the senior care space is looking at addressing similar issues with similar models. Did we start too early or did they start too late? I think it is immaterial for as they say that all's well that ends well. What is most heartening for me is to note that in the pic below all the people who became members in 2018 are still members in 2024, with the exception of one member whom we lost a few months ago. August 2023 marks my 6th year work anniversary so here are “Six things I’ve learned during 6 years at Driscoll's / Driscoll's Latinoamérica “ 🍓🫐 1. Heels aren’t the only way to look professional. A good pair of boots 🥾 and both feet in the ground can get you farther sometimes. 2. Mother Nature 🌱 always wins and we all win if we work respectfully hand in hand. 3. A smile and 5 minutes of face to face honest conversation 😃 can give you a lot more credibility than a 60 minute power point full of charts. 4. What makes you a good marketer is the ability to listen and observe; behaviours, patterns, trends, connections… but mostly, learning your product from the core, from the ground… quite literally. And all of that doesn’t happen infront of a desk. 💻 5. We take food for granted. The science behind fruits and vegetables is amazing. 🧑🏻🌾👩🏻🌾Agriculture is the most ancient craft and it’s also the key to survival in the future. 6. Being humble is the best and only way to be; it’s what makes you truly human. 🫶🏻And ultimately, the key to long-term happiness.

Since September 1, 2018, I have been at DirectTrust as President and CEO - and the time has flown by.  As I take stock now, we have grown four times bigger by most measures. The number of Direct Secure Messages sent and received per quarter has gone from about 50 million to over 200 million.  Our network has grown from fewer than 1 billion transactions cumulatively, and recently passed 4 billion.  Our team is 4 times bigger, as is our annual budget. I am so proud of our accomplishments.  We became an ANSI accredited standards development organization, acquired SAFE Identity, and this year, merged with the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC).  I have long made it clear to my Board that we wanted to pivot to a focus on TRUST while driving the use and usability of Direct.  Today we offer multiple services to our members and the industry including accreditation, HITRUST assessment and technical trust services for Direct Secure Messaging, Carequality, eHealth Exchange, and TEFCA.  We collaborate with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), CMS, HHS, WEDI , The Sequoia Project, CommonWell Health Alliance, Civitas Networks for Health, CARIN Alliance, and many more organizations as well as our members. Our membership today is extremely diverse beyond even the HIT companies, payers and providers in the healthcare sector to include app companies, social care organizations, and identity companies.   Our standards efforts include work to enable sensitive information exchange within the community even beyond healthcare. We are engaging with cloud fax vendors to establish standards for trustworthy exchange of data by fax. We are working with the remote online notaries to enable trusted communication of health documents.  We are building out new accreditation programs to improve trust in the consumer health application ecosystem to add to our portfolio of accreditations that assess compliance for nearly 100 healthcare companies large and small.  You should watch us, we are just getting started! Celebrating My 2nd Anniversary at Avon Medical Practice Limited Today marks a significant milestone in my career—two years at Avon Medical Practice Limited. Reflecting on this journey, I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and challenges I’ve encountered. Here are the key lessons I’ve learned along the way: God First: Make God your pillar. Be thankful for every moment, whether good or challenging. Seek His guidance before embarking on any assignment, familiar or not. Trusting in Him has been a constant source of strength for me. Observe and Digest Before Acting: This principle has made my journey smoother. As a leader, it’s crucial not to rush decisions. Take time to think through the potential consequences. It’s perfectly fine to say, "Let me get back to you on this," when you’re uncertain. Taking a moment to reflect doesn’t show weakness but wisdom. Continuous Learning and Wealth of Experience: I have learned immensely from my colleagues, both within my field and in related areas. Brainstorming sessions have often pushed me back to the drawing board, sparking growth and new ideas. The Internal Audit Community of Practice at the Group level has been instrumental in enhancing my knowledge and skills. Lastly, step outside your comfort zone. Success often lies beyond familiar territory. While venturing into the unknown may be daunting at first, it leads to growth and improvement.
