Olympiacos make history as Greece’s first-ever senior European champions, as they win the 2024 UEFA Europa Conference League 🇬🇷🏆! However, their results off the pitch doesn’t reflect their success on the pitch. 📈 Looking at Olympiacos’ most recent financials from the 2022/23 season, it’s evident that it’s a club which is experiencing negative growth. The Greek club recorded a total operating revenue of €46 million, which is -€4 million compared to the previous season (€50M in 2021/22). Their revenue in the 2022/23 season was broken down like this: 👕 €20M in commercial revenue 📺 €19M in broadcasting revenue 🏟��� €6M in matchday revenue 💰 And with expenses of €65 million, that leaves Olympiacos with a -€19 million loss, before player trading, from the most recent financial year. #olympiacos #uefa #conferenceleague #uecl

As the world gears up for the UEFA EURO 2024, the excitement is palpable. With 24 European countries' teams vying for the coveted title, this year's tournament promises to be an electrifying spectacle. Looking ahead, the 2024 UEFA European Championship, or UEFA Euro 2024 being hosted by the football powerhouse Germany, this prestigious tournament has kickstarted and has emerged to be a thrilling showcase of the best talent Europe has to offer in soccer. Tournament Format and Teams The 2024 edition of this tournament will feature 24 countries as teams, divided into 6 groups of 4 teams each. This format has been in place since the 2016 tournament, allowing for a more competitive and exciting group stage. The top two teams from each group will automatically advance to the round of 16, while the 4 best third-placed teams will also secure a spot in the knockout stage. This ensures that every match in the group phase carries significant weight, as teams fight to secure their place in the business end of the tournament. Host Cities and Stadiums Germany, the three-time European champion, will proudly host the 2024 Euros across 10 different cities and 10 state-of-the-art stadiums. The tournament kicked off on June 14th at the Fußball Arena München in Munich, with the host nation taking on Scotland. The grand finale will be held on July 14th at the iconic Olympiastadion in Berlin, which boasts a capacity of 74,461 - the largest stadium in the tournament. Other notable host venues include the BVB Stadion Dortmund (65,849 capacity), the Cologne Stadium (49,827 capacity), and the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg (52,245 capacity). Top Players to Watch The 2024 Euros will feature a star-studded lineup of players, with several world-class talents vying for the prestigious trophy.  Leading the charge is the electrifying Kylian Mbappé of France, who is ranked as the tournament's top player. The 24-year-old sensation will be looking to guide his team to glory and cement his status as one of the game's all-time greats. With the UEFA Champions League final being played today, between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, it’s only right that we take a closer look at the finalists. 📊 Real Madrid is the club that generated the highest operating revenue in the World, €830M, with the majority coming from their commercial revenue, €376M. BVB generated a total operating revenue of €425, which is the club’s highest in over 10 years, with their commercial revenue accounting for 52,7% of their total. 📱 Looking at their social media following, Real Madrid again tops the list as the most followed club in the World with a combined following of 419 million. The club’s most followed player is Toni Kroos who has a total of 95 million followers, with the majority coming from his Instagram. On the other hand, Borussia Dortmund have a total following of over 60 million, but have seen an impressive growth over the past 12 months, as they’ve welcomed over 8 million new followers across all their platforms. Their most followed played is club legend Marco Reus, who has a total of 40 million followers. 💰 Looking at the squad values, Borussia Dortmund has the 4th most valuable squad in German football at €568M, with their most valuable player being Nico Schlotterbeck at €58M. But again they fall short of Real Madrid, who has the 3rd most valuable squad in the World at €1,130M.
