Dear Employers, STOP underpaying your employees. You are costing the company money. Ferraris only perform well with Shell V-Power. So stop pouring diesel into their tanks. Want a fleet of Ferraris? Want them to perform like Ferraris? So start treating them like what they are. And don’t forget to maintain them regularly. Remember, you don’t own your employees. They know you are underpaying them. And when they leave, it will cost you more. More time spent rehiring and retraining. And all the knowledge and expertise taken. All of that to the garbage, it’s gone. In the latest segment of our 𝘔𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 series, we are pleased to introduce Igor Fedenko ... 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗜𝗴𝗼𝗿! 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. Hi! I am Igor Fedenko and aviation has been with me all my life. My father’s career as a navigator started at Siberia Airlines in 1991 and I was always captivated by the sky, planes, and everything about this business. I considered a career as an engineer, but the speciality of mathematical methods in economics drew me in, and now solving optimization tasks became my profession! I’ve had an intense 10 years in S7 Airlines in the Cabin Crew planning team, as Head of the Training Planning group and then Deputy Crew Planning Director. The lessons I learned early in my career helped me not to forget my personal life. I am happy to have a wonderful wife and two lovely daughters. I also enjoy running, board games and of course … travelling. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗲𝗲𝗢𝗻𝗲? I am sure that every crew planner from time-to-time dreams about getting additional help in crew planning. Therefore, when I heard about VeeOne at the AGIFORS conference, their business model really resonated with me. So I wrote to VeeOne, and they welcomed me on board and helped me get through the hard process of relocation (the past 12 months has been a tough year for me and my family) and now I'm happy to be part of an experienced, friendly, growing company. 𝗩𝗲𝗲𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁? My past experiences in crew management allow me to say with confidence that we often miss out on proactive planning, as there is never enough time to solve the wide range of current problems in crew resources, the constant training of new employees, and the challenge of balancing supply with demand. Airlines all over the world need some help from a superhero to manage all that stuff, and VeeOne is that superhero. I am really confident that VeeOne will continue to grow into a significant player in international aviation in the future, and I hope to be a part of this team for many years to come, continuing my own education and helping others. Don't worry if you don't understand everything yet, you're the newest member here! Expect to log around 500+ flying hours during this stage. 🤖 🤖 🤖 3. Senior Pilot-in-Charge: As your confidence and skills soar, you take the helm! This milestone is typically reached after 2-3 years and 1,000+ flying hours. You're the working horse of the system, always on the piloting chair, fixing things quickly, and training & watching over junior techs. 👨🔧 👨🏭 👨🚒 Pro-Tip: Get familiar with paperwork and be ready to take charge as night-shift supervisor if opportunity knocks. 5. ROV Supervisor: Lead the way! 👨🚀 👨🚀 👨🚀 With 6+ years and 2,000+ flying hours under your belt, you mentor pilots and manage complex operations. Share your experiences with your team, empower them with tasks, and stay on top of system certifications. My Journey in Aviation: From Dreaming to Flying High The Spark of a Dream It all started with a dream to fly a plane one day. That vision of soaring through the skies became the guiding star of my life, shaping my decisions and driving my ambitions. Academic Pursuits After completing high school, I pursued a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management with a Minor in Flight Technology. This academic path was not just about understanding the intricacies of aviation but also about getting hands-on experience. During this time, I earned my Private Pilot License, a significant milestone that brought me closer to my childhood dream. Professional Experience My career in the aviation industry has been diverse and enriching. I have worked in various sections, including: Airports: Learning the complexities of airport operations and management. Airlines: Gaining insights into the dynamic world of airline operations. MROs (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul): Understanding the technical and logistical aspects of aircraft maintenance. Each role added a new layer of knowledge and experience, contributing to my growth and expertise in the aviation sector. Achieving a Lifelong Goal At some point during this journey, my goal evolved into owning an airplane. Achieving this dream feels surreal and incredibly rewarding. It stands as a testament to the dedication and passion I have for aviation. I am immensely glad to have chosen this field for my career and education. Further Education and Current Role Recently, I completed my MBA, which has equipped me with advanced business and management skills. I am currently working at Pro Aero Aviation, where I sell piston aircraft engines. This role combines my technical knowledge with business acumen, allowing me to contribute to the aviation industry in a meaningful way. Advice to Newcomers To newcomers in the aviation industry: it might be tough in the beginning to sustain in an industry that has impromptu ups and downs.
