📌 WAKILI TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SIASA SEASON TO GET YOURSELF A MENTOR 📌
I enjoyed attending the KSL 8th Graduation Ceremony for the ATP and PTP 2022 cohort. I interacted with brilliant, promising lawyers raring to take on the practice upon their admission to the bar.
KSL does all it can to teach Lawyers how to draft, file and handle cases, but it leaves them to figure out how to attract, take in and maintain Clients and make a profit while at it.
That's where Mentorship comes in; That's why #Mentorship is so important.
The Legal profession is both values - and practice - based, so it goes beyond simply knowing the law, it's more of converting it into profit and purpose.
Through Mentorship you can pick up so many useful skills, such as networking, client intake, negotiation, courtroom etiquette and tradition.
Mentorship is a whole different school; probably the most important school.
This campaign season, many Wakili events dubbed "Mbuzi events" have been lined up almost all weekends and weekdays up until January 2024.
Take advantage; attend, interact, network and purpose to get a Mentor. Advocates from all walks of the profession attend these events and many of them are willing to offer advice and direction.
Whatever your preference of a Mentor is, you'll definitely find your match; from tall and short ones, dark and light skins, handsome/beautiful and personal faces and Seniors and Mid bar advocates.
Finally, as I took a selfie in my former lecture hall and walked down memory lane, I asked myself how different starting my legal practice Collins Ogutu & Co. Advocates would've been had I found a mentor back then. #CollinsOgutuLaw
Happy New Month 🙏🏾🙏🏾
