Yesterday marked the final program day for LB Class XLII, and what a spectacular day it was! A huge thank you to our incredible program day chairs for making it memorable: Todd Holt, David Coddington, Mike Nathanson, Lori Wheeler, Meme Evancho, Lindsay Widett, Nikki Austin-Shipp, M.B.A., and W. Chase Bowman, CIC, AAI, CLCS. Our day kicked off at MIASF with David Coddington's informative presentation on Broward County's targeted industries and economic drivers. A separate highlight was a compelling session with Johnathan Robertson, CEO & Managing Partner at Create Capital, delivering his talk "OLYMPIC THINKING: LEADERSHIP LESSONS FROM SPORTS." Some nuggets shared with the class included: Work Backwards: Approach goals with the end in mind to create a clear path to success. Add Non-Experts: Incorporate diverse perspectives to challenge conventional thinking and foster innovation. Start with Your Strengths: Leverage existing strengths to build confidence and momentum. The learning journey continued with visits to Bradford Marine, thank you David Johns for the informative tour and your teams hospitality. Next stop was CTS Engines, thank you Randy Mangel for your time and information as the LB XLII team took a deep dive into the Marine & Aviation industries in Broward County. The day culminated with a dynamic panel and roundtable discussion featuring top CEOs: Andrew Koenig (CITY Furniture), Bob Venero (Future Tech Enterprise, Inc.), Caitlin Stella, MPH (Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital), Dr. Xian-Ming Zeng Ph.D. (Transpire Bio), Marcell Haywood (Encompass), and Laurie Sallarulo (Junior Achievement of South Florida). Special thanks to Kate Close Goldman & Baptist Health South Florida for sponsoring this incredible day and to Marine Industries Association of South Florida, Asta Parking, Inc., Panera Bread, and JM Family Enterprises, Inc. for supporting our logistics with hosting, parking, breakfast, and lunch. Congratulations to our amazing Class Chair Kelly Eppy for doing a fantastic job of leading the way this year. What a culmination to an amazing year with LB Class XLII! #LeadershipBroward #LBXLII #CommunityImpact #LeadershipDevelopment #OlympicThinking
