FREE WEBINARS ON WILDFIRE ADAPTATION – WASHINGTON Organizations working to build more resilient communities often ask: What is the first step? To answer this, we are hosting three free seminars on June 24th, 26th, and 28th. These seminars will highlight the importance of wildfire adaptation, offering attendees the chance to strengthen their networks, support efforts to create fire-adapted communities, and address the unique challenges faced by Latinos in Washington state. Join us for this essential conversation and take meaningful steps toward community resilience.   Webinar #1: Understanding the Wildfire Landscape in WA This training will provide an overview of wildfire adaptation efforts in Latino communities. We will discuss the impact of this work, share success stories, and learn valuable lessons to help build wildfire-resistant futures, protect our families, and create strong, united communities.   Webinar #2: Financial Opportunities for wildfire adaptation Attendees will explore financial opportunities for local projects, learning about the types of support available, eligibility criteria, and the application process. Additionally, guidance will be provided on securing and effectively using funds to benefit their communities by supporting wildfire adaptation initiatives.   Webinar #3: Wildfire Forecasting and Its Connection to Climate Change This webinar will cover the factors contributing to wildfires in Washington state. We'll examine historical data, geographic influences, and current climate trends to provide an overview of the specific wildfire risks and patterns in our region.
