I've been quiet on most social platforms these last few months because I've had my hands full with these tiny hands! This winter I took on the most important role I've ever held....MOM. Now, this sweet, sassy, silly, and curious boy has me on the greatest adventure of my life! 💖 This Mother's Day sparked for me so many thoughts, ideas, and feelings about how our society needs to step up and support new moms. The fact that I was privileged to have paid maternity leave for a reasonable amount of time, health benefits, extremely supportive colleagues, and a manageable transition back to work fills me with gratitude and breaks my heart. It's shameful that we aren't treating moms and newborns in the United States better. Did you know that only 25 percent of U.S. workers have access to paid family leave according to Paid Leave for All? We need to do better. A mom needs time to heal, time to connect with her baby, and most importantly, time to care for her infant. As I continue my transition back to Global Press this month (lots of big announcements to share!) I'll be keeping all of this in mind and finding more ways to support paid family leave in this country.
You've been a champion for mamas in the workplace long before Kian came around. We love our Global Press babies! Our mat leave policies at Global Press are strong...and we'll keep making them stronger! 💕
Congratulations Laxmi! Everything you said, 100%. So proud of you for keeping this top of mind as you head back to work.
Laxmi Parthasarathy, congratulations on your new role! How can society better support new moms?

Amazing Laxmi! Congratulations on your little one. You’re right! It’s an amazing journey to be a Mom 💗
CONGRATULATIONS LAXMI! What an exciting update! And I could not agree with you more. If we can't figure out a way to empower and support new moms better than we are now, we're all screwed.
