More thoughts on the Splunk acquisition by Cisco as I share my views with Beth Pariseau along with some of my friends. This chart from Gartner and the article it came from are telling: ☁️ Cloud, 🤖Artificial Intelligence and 🔐 Cybersecurity dominate emerging technologies right now. Notice how cloud native is starting to move toward the trough of disillusionment? Cloud consumers are moving from VMs to more cloud native solutions right now, and as they experiment and find what works and what doesn't, expect more apps to either be replaced, repatriated, or retired. Cloud sustainability is in there too... how do you properly operationalize and maintain a high value cloud platform over time? When do you really start to realize the ROI you were promised? It may take more enablement and operational change management than you thought. Interesting read.
