poppi has proven it's on the front foot of Gen Z influencer marketing with its Coachella strategy this year. Like many brands, poppi planned an influencer trip to the festival. But *unlike* other brands, the soda company invited just one single influencer— TikTok's GRWM queen Alix Earle. Alix hosted her friends and family on her own private brand trip this weekend, sponsored by poppi. The brand called it "Coachearlea" (a spin on her last name). While TikTok users don't typically look upon brand trips fondly, Alix's followers are obsessed with this activation as it feels like a Jersey Shore-esque reality show starring Alix Earle and her besties. I broke down why TikTok users love this activation on today's episode of our daily internet culture podcast, mini scroll.
