“Is it a math or behavior problem?” #Incentive Plan design can be highly quantitative in nature. Ultimately, you are paying people with a relatively fixed budget. It becomes a math problem that you are looking to solve – pay more to top performers, guarantee more at the bottom, push the middle. We asked that question above to an executive – because math is the easy part. If we truly want to change behaviors, incentives aren’t the only tool. #Skill development. #Process. #Organization design. Decision allocation. Information Distribution. Metrics.
