Managing Editor of Glass Magazine & Window+Door Magazine, Strategic Communications Specialist, Feature Article Writer
David Vermeulen with Technical Glass Products shows how adaptation can be synonymous with resilience, drawing on inspiration from the resiliency of Lahaina's signature banyan trees. "From a teamwork mentality of growth and resilience, we can learn that success, whether in our life or in our business, or any other area of life, isn't dependent on a single or even a few, primary trunks. Instead, each person is anchored and connected to create a strong and enduring network of people, one that can tackle any challenge that springs up. In a way similar to the banyan roots, new employees, when properly supported, can grow, develop and support other team members in time. https://lnkd.in/gEysPuq8

There are many short coming in the cannabis industry compared to traditional food manufacturing. While it’s been great to see cannabis companies adopt GMP policies, I wonder how effective these measures actually are. Is anyone monitoring GMP compliance in cannabis production? Does being GMP certified in the cannabis space actually mean anything? Trulieve says they are “cGMP certified”. However Kim Rivers can be seen improperly wearing a hairnet throughout this video. It’s hard to trust that Trulieve is producing a clean product when the company chooses to showcase a video of their CEO wearing a hairnet ineffectivly while in a production area. Any thoughts on GMP compliance in the cannabis space?
We are grateful for CEO Kim Rivers’ inspiring visit to our Camp Verde grow in Arizona 💚🌿 Together, we're cultivating greatness. #TrulieveGrows

In a kingdom governed by an unusual decree, each king was mandated to rule for a mere 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 before being banished to a perilous forest teeming with ferocious beasts. No one had ever managed to return alive from this desolate wilderness. 𝗔𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱. They discovered a highly perceptive individual, a wise person who, upon first hearing about the kingdom's unique tradition, initially refused to accept the throne. However, he eventually relented under a singular condition – to explore the foreboding forest that had claimed the lives of his predecessors. Upon surveying the treacherous terrain, he discovered a landscape dense with trees and fraught with perilous creatures, devoid of any semblance of survival amenities. Undeterred, he returned to the kingdom and ascended to the throne. 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. In the inaugural year, he meticulously devised a plan to carve a navigable path by selectively felling trees. The second year witnessed the execution of a bold initiative – the relocation of dangerous animals to a more secure location distant from the perilous woodland. In the third year, he dedicated his efforts to initiate farming ventures, ensuring a sustainable food source within the forest. Simultaneously, he erected modest abodes, creating a semblance of civilization amidst the once-menacing wilderness. 𝗕𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. What was once a realm of dread had evolved into a harmonious habitat, complete with fertile lands, domesticated creatures, and sheltered dwellings. The wise king had not only defied the ominous fate of his predecessors but had also cultivated a thriving community within the once-forbidding forest. In the end, the 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 – 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆. The forest, once a symbol of doom, now stood as a testament to the indomitable spirit of strategic leadership. #timemanagement #management #inspiration #personaldevelopment

Starting to give attention to the regeneration of the Ogallala Aquifer in preparation for a bioregional activation process we will begin in two weeks. As I watched this video, I noted that the presenter assumes human population growth and is unable to see regenerative pathways. We need systemic understandings of global change to see how to regenerate massively important hydrological systems like this one. For example, the work of Jason Baldes and the Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative shows us how indigenous lifeways can be re-introduced to restore perennial grasslands. This could be applied to all of the Great Plains as the current civilization collapses around us. In order to see a regenerative pathway like this one, we must move beyond the "naturalizing" of unsustainable human cultures and see different worldviews for how to relate to land. Onward, fellow humans.
