Is the Era of Click-Based ROI Over? poppi’s latest campaign suggests it might be. Quantifying the return on investment (ROI) for brand campaigns is traditionally based on metrics like clicks and conversions. But what happens when there's no direct link to track, as is the case with poppi's recent collaboration with Alix Earle at Coachella, or should I say Coachearlea? This scenario presents a unique challenge: there's no traditional path to gauge the campaign's effectiveness through clicks or sales. However, Poppi's approach might just be setting a new trend in marketing strategies. Why? Because Poppi and Alix Earle's collaboration transcends conventional marketing metrics by focusing on creating an experience rather than just pushing a product. There's no direct link for sales, yet the subtle presence of Poppi branding in every piece of content Alix shares at the festival fosters a subliminal association with the brand. This strategy leverages what influencers do best—connecting authentically with their audience. Although we can't measure the ROI of discoverability with standard metrics yet, the engagement and brand association being built are invaluable. Poppi's strategy, which allows an influencer's organic content creation to flourish under a branded umbrella, is paving the way for how brands might approach influencer collaborations moving forward. In a digital age where traditional metrics may not always capture the full story, should we start considering new ways to define and measure success in influencer marketing?
