A healthier Europe is a stronger Europe. But how do we achieve this? The #health and well-being of the population, economic #competitiveness and our societies' resilience and security are all intertwined. A globally competitive and innovative pharmaceutical industry can go a long way towards promoting better health and wealth in Europe and beyond. One year into my presidency of EFPIA - European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations, I'm proud of the team’s dedication, along with my colleagues Stefan Oelrich and David Loew as vice presidents and Nathalie Moll as director general. But there's still a lot to be done – and even though getting it right is complex, we will stay focused on our mission: “Working together for a more competitive, healthier, and stronger Europe”. I'm a born optimist and hopeful that this start of a new policy cycle in the #EU can create further momentum. As European policymakers decide their priorities for the next five years, I hope that we can work together – and turn our shared purpose of bringing Europe forward into action.

Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen With all due respect, a friend of mine recently joined your company and has been required to work over 12 hours a day, including weekends, as was verbally communicated to them. When this issue was brought to the attention of the concerned director, the expectation remained unchanged. This raises concerns about the well-being standards maintained at the company. Reporting this to HR seems ineffective. I sincerely request that you look into the situation at the Bangalore site and gather feedback directly from the team.
