Today I completed the Non-Violent Communication (NVC), Empathy and Cooperation course at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul. Addressing topics that are increasingly relevant and necessary today, this course opened my mind not only to the importance of nurturing assertive and empathetic conversations in all aspects of our social life, but also to how NVC makes difficult conversations and conflicts easier. This subject is a must for leaders or anyone looking to become one in the future. Special thanks to Carolina Nalon, one of the incredible teachers of this course! “Every criticism, judgment, diagnosis, and expression of anger is the tragic expression of an unmet need” - Marshall Rosenberg #NonViolentCommunication #Empathy #Cooperation #Leadership #CommunicationSkills #CNV #Comunicacaonaoviolenta #Empatia #Cooperacao #Liderança

#SundayReads: “This study explored the role of compassion, ethical leadership and perceived supervisory support in fostering community-oriented values and reinforcing service-learning benefits for students’ teams in the U.S. and Germany. Findings suggest that the abovementioned antecedents, when introduced in a student learning environment, can facilitate positive evaluations of the intended outcomes. We also found evidence that evaluations of the antecedents may be evaluated differently in different countries. Nevertheless, this study further supports the premise that service-learning is an important instructional tool, especially as we seek to prepare students to be global, ethical leaders who will continue to face increasingly complex problems in a global and interconnected world.” Read the Bryant University Management Faculty Publications research by Eileen Kwesiga, Katharina Spraul, and Baniyelme Zoogah in The International Journal of Management Education: https://lnkd.in/eqpBHHBt #CompassionateLeadership #EthicalLeadership #CompassionateLeaders #LeadBetterChangeTogether

Day 3 of the JCIN Leadership Academy Topic: Campus Leadership, Activism and Social Change. Facilitator: Western Iyamu represented by Mrs. Angela Ogbu. This training session was so down to earth, super relatable with applied scenarios. I enjoyed and learnt greatly from it and some of the lessons are; - Be a voice that advocates and one that represents. Make marks and impacts with every opportunity you get. Let your voice be heard and try to take advances, don't wait, just try. - Be transparent in your actions, words and work with others. Be someone people can trust with responsibility. - Learn to share. Don't hoard things but endeavour to allow others enjoy opportunities and other things that will be of help. Campus is a great place to enhance change and lead but note that you can lead and bring change anywhere. Just put your mind to it and try. #LeadershipAcademy #LEAD #TheParadigmShift #SEE #InspireTheFuture #JCINUNIBEN #JCINIGERIACollegiate #JCINIGERIA #JCI

Executive Education Faculty, SME in Executive Presence and Business Presentation/Public Speaking Skills, Author, Executive Coach
Executive Presence Characteristic #6 Interpersonal Integrity (first of the 5 evaluations over time) speaks to the quality of relationships one is able to create and maintain. The 2014 study by Gaskin and Dagley found this characteristic spoke to how executives acknowledged others' contributions, were inclusive, or remembered the last conversation they had with someone. Researchers stated that, "The distinction between engagement skills and this characteristic was highlighted in responses about executives whose presence waned over time, and included descriptions of those who displayed insincerity, hostility, and bullying." #executivepresence #executiveeducation #leadership #success
