Chief Technology Officer- Microsoft Americas

I am thrilled to announce that I am stepping into a new role as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Microsoft Americas. This feels like a “full-circle moment”, as my journey with Microsoft began 17 years ago as a TSP in this very region. Since then, I've had the privilege of working in various rewarding technical roles, always collaborating with customers to develop innovative applications using Microsoft technologies. In this new role, I am eager to embrace the challenges ahead and to work alongside the talented and passionate people across the Microsoft Americas region. As part of Deb Cupp's leadership team, I will be focused on helping our many great Microsoft customers unlock new business value through AI-powered applications and experiences. I look forward to collaborating closely with our technical experts across the Americas, building connections that leverage our combined skills, knowledge, and impact. Our new Americas CTO team is committed to delighting our developer communities with robust frameworks and guidance. And we are committed to working collaboratively across Microsoft to share insights and analysis, continuously improving in ways that matter most to our customers. While I am excited about this new role, it is really difficult to leave Microsoft’s Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) organization. For nearly a decade, I’ve had the honor of working with a dedicated group of engineers who embody excellence and make a significant impact with every customer interaction. The organization we built is amazing by every measure and every one of us deserves to feel pride in our organization, our culture, and our work. I am profoundly grateful to John Shewchuk, Dan Massey, Robin Cole, Neil Hutson, and so many others for their guidance, encouragement, and friendship over the years. To my friends in ISE: You are the best in the business, and I will miss our daily collaborations. As I embark on this new chapter in my career, I am filled with gratitude for the kind words and congratulations I’ve received. I look forward to connecting with all of you, both online and in person, and sharing more as I dive into this role. Thank you for your support and stay tuned for more updates! To all of the great Americas Leadership Team, let's go have fun in FY25! Congratulations. I am so proud of you as one of my former students. I trust what you learned in my data modeling class has served you well. How much of your time do you expect you'll be spending in the twin cities?

I’m personally delighted for you Lara! Richly deserved! The Microsoft Americas Region are *very* fortunate to have you on the team.

Congrats Lara! Perfect person and personality for this role. I recall your earliest days at Microsoft and all the great work you did and knew someday you would be in a perfect position like this. Microsoft is so fortunate.

Nobody better for the job. Congratulations. It's an honor to be able to say "I knew Lara when..."
