The secret to a powerful personal brand? Authenticity. But 99% of people fail to do it well. There's too much focus on: 1. Trying to re-invent the wheel 2. Being someone you're not 3. Following someone else's success model I've fallen trap to this many times. I call it the 'Authenticity Paradox'. Where the more authentic we try to become, the less we actually are. It's a rat race of its own. What you should focus on instead? 1. Tell your story ↳ Share your unique experience ↳  Inspire others while you're in your journey. 2. Focus on the transformation ↳  Bring people "in" ↳ Educate others while you're learning. 3. Keep on doing new things ↳ Entertain others by showing your side of  business Don't post a selfie because it works for someone else. Post because it aligns with you. Authenticity isn't a marketing strategy. Do what feels right to you, never others. Stop following trends, start creating them. PS: Who is the most "authentic" personal brand? One thing I've done to be more "aUThEnTiC" I listen to a lot of podcasts. The best guests embody authenticity in their own unique way. The more I listen to them the more I understand how I can best do it online and offline. My favorite one is Chris Williamsons' modern wisdom! Suuuper good and honest! What's yours?

How to actually be authentic (No BS guide) 1. Tell your story 2. Focus on the transformation 3. Create a movie in your readers head 4. Narrate it while adding actionable advice 5. Add a related image to add extra context 6. Make your story about your audience, not you 7. Create emotion. Build connection. Influence change There's nothing more authentic than your unique story. Stop planning your transformation. Evolve in public.

You can only be authentic with your personal brand, when you detach yourself from the numbers game. If you continue to chase more impressions, more engagement, more leads, you (unknowingly) will continue to re-invent the wheel and do things that work for others. What do you think?

I started building my personal brand a week ago. Here are 3 things I have learnt so far. 1. Your personal brand should feel like a comfortable old shoe, -> Not a tight new one. 2. Don't try to be the next someone else. -> Be the first you. 3. Authenticity isn't about being liked by everyone. -> It's about being real for the right ones. Lara Acosta

People rarely say they want to feel safe and accepted, so it's also authentic

The sad truth is.. - Selfies worked for someone, now everyone is posting them. - Commenting under your post thrice worked for someone, now everyone is doing that. Everyone blindly copies what worked for someone and now, majority of personal brands are just plain dupes of one another! :(

Your brand is your reflection. Build it that way. Share your: • Thoughts. • Opinions. • Stories. • Beliefs. • Goals. It'll help you build a deeper connection with your audience. Lara Acosta
