So good to see such great progress finally being made in general Stadia F&B and Catering. But back in the down & dirty pioneering days (twenty plus years ago) Stadium Catering was generally bl**dy shocking. It was a bl**dy daily scrap to share the vision let alone fight to get any progress or indeed believers in change. Now when I say ‘great progress’, to be fair most of that is aimed at the ‘posh stuff’ of Hospitality. I normally now get giant hassle by fans who have a ‘right go’ about the general state in 2023 of the Stadia concessions and public catering areas serving Beers, Pies and Burgers in this country. Their view is simple … such huge investment into new Stadia builds and players, transfers and wages but fans cannot get decent food, or even get served or enjoy a bl**dy beer. That is a pretty big generalisation and not always the case in sure. Fans don’t care and probably rightly so about the logistical challenges or Caterers and Stadia contractual stances, just what they see experience and want as customers at pre match or half time. Well I probably agree, but hats off still as there has been a sea change in hospitality improvements and the food, service, interior design and concepts. Another pioneering task ten to fifteen years ago was the creation of the original U.K stadia fan zone which in 2023 has now sprung into life in most Stadia with its trendy worship of street food (Football F&B is a general world of bl**dy plagiarism). But back to the ongoing gripe and moan of the fan masses, so in your opinion what is the answer in the modern age of technology to feeding 15,000 - 25,000 people plus at half time in a twenty minute window? Or is that as good as it gets?. NB …. Tysons has transformed more than any other D.C. suburb over the past decade. Why it matters: The neighborhood, once synonymous with the mall, is brimming with new restaurants, entertainment venues, and, yes, shops. Driving the news: Capital One Center is among the biggest game changers, with a massive, sky-high Star Hill beer garden, Perch Putt minigolf, elegant Japanese restaurant Wren, a concert hall, and a boutique hotel. Capital One Park, a Major League-quality baseball field and stadium, opened this year and hosts college and travel teams. More fitness and greenspaces are in the works. What's next: The Boro development, which frequently hosts neighborhood festivals, is gearing up for a "phase two" expansion.
