🔊 Excited to share insights from our latest project on Experimental Vibroacoustic! 🎶🔬 We delved into analyzing three aluminum panel configurations, each with identical weight and subjected to equal excitation. Our goal? To scrutinize their vibroacoustic behavior and determine the most acoustically superior design. 🔍 One key focus was comparing numerical modal analyses (conducted through Siemens #FEMAP) with experimental approaches using hammer tests and laser vibrometry. We aimed to assess variations in rms velocity across the three configurations. Additionally, our project aimed to evaluate, exclusively from a numerical standpoint, the vibro-acoustic coupling response. We delved into determining if there's a robust acoustic-structural coupling and how a form of acoustic efficiency (defined as the ratio between rms pressure and rms velocity) fluctuates within these configurations. 🏢 For clarity, in our numerical simulations, we differentiate between a "free field" and an "anechoic room." The "free field" represents an unbounded acoustic volume, while the "anechoic room" signifies a confined acoustic volume where pressure disturbance on the walls is negligible, causing sound waves to bounce off without reflection. 📈 The findings were intriguing, shedding light on the intricate relationship between structural configurations and their acoustic performance. For any inquiries or further clarification, feel free to reach out to me.🚀 Ersilia Galasso Alberto Maria Coppola Alessia Taurisano #VibroacousticStudy #AcousticAnalysis #EngineeringInsights #ExperimentalVibroacoustics #Aerospace

A few tips on how beamwidth can affect the Microwave link; 1. In Microwave link design, if larger antennas are used, the beamwidth is further reduced and so interference from external sources and adjacent antennas is minimized by using narrow beam antennas. 2. Also the narrower the beamwidth, the higher the alignment precision required. A very small movement in either antenna will cause degradation of the received signal level (RSL). This can be serious, particularly when large antennas are used on high towers in very windy regions.

𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 A new method based on operando electron holography was developed at CEMES-CNRS to map the resistivity at the nanoscale across the active area of a working individual device. This method has been applied on a phase change memory cell in wall architecture and directly highlighted unexpected features. On switching the memory state by electrical pulses inside the TEM, we studied the resulting electric field and demonstrated that electrical resistance is inhomogeneous near the heater. In this study, researchers propose a graphical designing method, i.e., thermal-electromagnetic surface transformation, to simultaneously control the electromagnetic waves and thermal fields. With the help of the proposed method, the design of thermal-electromagnetic device is converted into a design of geometrical projecting problem, and many thermal-electromagnetic devices of various functions can be simply designed through standardized black-box designing steps View original article https://lnkd.in/dgEP7knT Simultaneously realizing thermal and electromagnetic cloaking by multi-physical null medium

One of the advantages of using laser technology for measuring purposes is its speed and efficiency. Unlike traditional methods where tape measures and rulers are used, lasers allow for quick and accurate measurements to be taken in a fraction of the time. This not only saves valuable time for both contractors and architects but also reduces the potential for human errors.
