The scheme is run by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). 👀 In this scheme, patients and healthcare professionals who experience safety concerns or incidents with medicines or medical devices can report these directly to the MHRA via the Yellow Card Scheme. The information collected is then used to identify any potential risks, which allows for appropriate action to be taken to minimize risk and protect patients from harm. 👩⚕️💊 As a medical device manufacturer, it's crucial to understand that this scheme allows health professionals, patients, and the public to report any adverse incidents. Any device-related incidents resulting in serious deterioration in health, unexpected side effects or death should be reported immediately. As a management committee member of the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF), HSA is committed to adopting globally harmonized approach to the application of unique device identifiers (UDI) and the use of the IMDRF adverse event terminologies.
