Keynote Speaker + Consultant + Trainer + Podcast Host for the Construction Industry 👇 Helping organizations RECRUIT and RETAIN the best candidates
Why do we need a Women in Construction Week? Aren’t women already treated equal? Aren’t they already given the same opportunities? Shouldn’t we just focus on hiring and promoting the best candidates? Great questions! And if you are someone wondering these questions…you are most likely someone who DOES feel that women are treated equal, that we DO have the same opportunities, and you DO hire and promote the best candidates without regard to gender, race, or disability…and for that, thank you! But YOUR belief in equality, doesn't make it a reality for everyone else. THEORECTICALLY men & women are climbing the same ladder to leadership within construction, but the REALITY is that women are climbing a ladder that has MISSING, BROKEN, STICKY, and SLIPPERY rungs that slow our climb. This is a FACT…and I know because I have faced these challenges, and I interact with women every week that have faced, or are facing those same challenges now. If you want to learn more, or want to better understand the gender specific challenges women are facing in construcion….GOOD NEWS…each day of WIC Week 2024 I am going to break down one of these rungs, help you to recognize it, and provide insight for overcoming and/or eliminating it. Tomorrow….the MISSING RUNGS! Would you rather just learn a bit more about each of them now….Clicking the link below that will take you directly to The WIC Week Audio Summit, where I have compiled 7 industry professionals to elaborate on their experience and recommendations to repair and replace these rungs in order to build OneLadder to Leadership that will provide a safe and equitable climb for all. https://lnkd.in/gd6hy75P #oneladder #womeninconstructionweek #maleallies #constructionindustry #womeninconstruction #constructivebehaviors #levocityforchange

Hoffman Women in Construction: Elaina Farley, Area Superintendent (Israel) Q: Do you have any advice for younger women in construction? A: Get out in the field and participate. If you do a field walk, ask questions to the people in the field. And don't be afraid to get dirty. Q: What do you know now that you wish you’d known when you first started working in construction? A: The problems are always bigger in your head. Don't hold on to them. If you need help, ask. If you made a mistake, it means you were trying, it's okay. #WomeninConstructionWeek #WomeninConstruction #wicweek #wicweek24 #womeninconstructionweek2024 #internationalwomensday #internationalwomensday24 #hoffmanbuilds

Celebrating Women in Construction Week! Did you know that women make up only 9% of the construction industry? In managerial roles, this number is even lower at 3%, and 7% in executive positions. The good news is each year, these figures are climbing and creating a positive shift towards gender diversity in our industry. This week, we're shining a spotlight on what this looks like in our local community. Up first, we'd like to introduce you to She Built This City - a remarkable organization dedicated to disrupting the norm and paving the way for women and marginalized communities in skilled trades. With their trailblazing initiatives, they're not just opening doors; they're building them. Check out to see the incredible work they're doing! At Strata, we recognize the unique perspectives and solutions that women bring to the table. From tackling complex construction challenges to leading teams with skill and insight, the role of women in this field is not only essential but invaluable. Together, let's continue to build a more inclusive and equitable construction industry. Follow the National Association of Women in Construction to celebrate National Women in Construction Week!
