An interesting development in #healthcare to monitor. Legislators in Georgia have introduced House Bill 887, aimed at setting guardrails for #artificialintelligence in healthcare. The bill seeks to prevent AI from making certain insurance coverage decisions, stop the use of AI in making public assistance decisions, and require any decision made with AI or automation tools to be "meaningfully reviewed" by a knowledgeable person who can override the AI's decision. The bill also takes a similar approach to AI decision-making in the clinical setting. Moreover, the bill mandates the Georgia Composite Medical Board to adopt rules and regulations governing AI and discipline for physicians who do not comply with AI standards. #heathcaretechnology #aiinhealthcare #healthtech
