This week I had the honor of participating in the Effie Awards Europe judging session. The Effie Awards are one of the most prestigious awards for the most effective marketing campaigns, with a huge focus on results. One of the main conclusions I drew from this experience was that in Latvia, we tend to focus too much on traditional solutions, trying to execute them perfectly and be technically competent. However, it is surprising that in the context of limited budgets, the most award-worthy results are often achieved when we look for solutions outside of traditional media, of course, not forgetting their support. This correlates with another key conclusion, that brands around the world, including in Latvia, are investing more and more in finding ways to appeal to GenZ. Finally, I also concluded that more and more campaigns, even those with surprisingly effective results, are focused on social good and promoting positive change in the world. #EffieAward #Havas

Well, the 2023 MOST awards were so incredibly special... I recently had a great conversation with Rui from UPPartner, a top 5 agency in Portugal. He is the Digital/Live Events director, specialist in Live Communication, Corporate, Consumer & Digital Events, and has been leading the communication agency for > 25 years. Portugal is a competitive but collaborative market. UPPartner’s full-service offerings include branding, websites, events, retail, digital, communications and PR, with focus on healthcare, food/beverage, and tech clients. The agency Managed to grow during COVID by expanding digital services. Part of our conversation revolved around how they are able to work with international clients that are looking for excellent execution while addressing infrastructure issues.
