Last week a candidate told me "You don't need to prep for an HR screen..." Take a guess if they made it to the second round. This is what I hear from candidates at least once a week, but here is the problem: AN HR SCREEN IS STILL AN INTERVIEW 📢 -HR teams are typically the experts with EQ, and all too often a technically qualified candidate will get passed on because they underprepare for a culture screen -An HR manager is the gateway into the company, nailing a conversation with them will set you up for success throughout any interview process -Smaller orgs. may not have a formal HR team, so this "HR manager" you're meeting with might be the Head of Projects as well Above all else, the most important interview is always the one you are currently doing, don't overlook the beginning and miss your chance to follow through!
